This is correct.

The official order banks for the RR aren’t even close to being open. Ford shut that door right from the start.

For those saying that they put their “order” in are getting bamboozled by the dealerships.

The ones that were lucky enough to snag one of the allocated, non-customizable units at MSRP (rare) or ADM, congrats!

Be patient RR fans. Hopefully we’ll get our chance to bring one home.

I had a dealer reach out to me today and told me the retail orders for the Ranger Raptor opened up about a week ago and was asking if I wanted to order one. What was that about? Did something change or was he misinformed?

That's because codes 10-19 are reserved for retail orders. 20-80 are for stock units. You wouldn't get an email on a stock unit as it's the dealer's unit to sell you. Doesn't mean they can't sell it to you or earmark it for you, but it's their order.

Ford told dealers the 1 they are getting first had to be a stock order. So retail orders won't be built until far later in production based on what they've said.

So.. just because you got the email doesn't mean you're getting a Raptor anytime soon. They are not building retail orders in the first round of production. So you might have an email and a retail order, but your truck is not getting built in this cycle if Fird holds to what they've said.

Well now that I look I was looking at the sheet they gave me when they did the retail order not knowing as they would later find out that they could only order to stock. My bad.

And no a stock order can't have a code of 10. Retail are 10-19, stock are 20-80. It must be 20 or greater or it will never be pulled by Ford to build it as the code is an error in the submitted order.

And the most recent podcast on information I believe Ford has automatically converted any retail orders that were placed which should not have been allowed in the first place to stock orders. Those of you who got emails regarding a retail order can probably check with your local dealer to confirm that.


Now the question is for those instances where it happened how does this work if the dealer also had a stock order already in the system? Is the retail order then wiped out completely?

I asked this question to long McArthur and this is the boat I am sitting in. Retail priority 10 seems I was switched to stock by ford. Dealership charged me a deposit yesterday and said I definitely have my order in. I am just afraid to ask at this point lol

Hope so, think so, and as posted here or elsewhere the stock order mirrors my retail order. Got a call yesterday and went in to see them expecting something had gone sideways but they just wanted me to drive a auction vehicle back from the big Manheim auction in Chicago - first time since early 2021 that they bought something at auction pre virus they bought 4-8 every couple months.

I initially placed a stock order with my local ford dealer for RR on6/1/23. I was told that they were doing only stock order and that I would not receive any update from ford directly.

6/28/23 received email notice from ford with order confirmation. I reached out to my guy and he said that ford allowed retail order recently and he switched mine over to that. The order ID still the same on the initial stock order and current retail order ( R002).

Not sure what this means. did i just get bumped to the end of the line?

Short answer is no one knows. Who knows if Ford will build retail or stock orders first. In Long McArthurs new video, he pretty much explains for specialty cars, Ford will ask which order they want to use their allocation on to get built. So if that is true, it doesn't matter what place you're in or what priority code you have, it's up to your dealer to choose whose order gets built.

Do the order IDs from Ford me anything? I've seen some with letters in front of them T620 and some like 450 and other like 5200? Does Ford build them in any order, for example 450 gets built before 5200?

Nope the order number doesn’t mean anything. It’s sequential for the dealership.
