If your Ranger should have Global Windows (remote windows) but doesn't...

I have a 24 Ranger Lariat with a blend date of 8/14/24. Drove it home September 3rd. I noticed that the Windows item was missing under the Vehicle menu and talked to the dealer who said they'd report it to Ford. Couple weeks later Ford tried a software fix that didn't work. Since then I've followed up with them a few times and last month they said a fix was very close. The Dealer (Rob Sight Ford Kansas City) called last week and said they had the fix. Just took it in this morning and sure enough it now works.

Certain trim levels may not have this feature, check to be sure your trim should have it.

So if you should have this but don't, nows the time to contact your dealer and let them know a fix is available.

What does the dealer do? Will regular software update handle it or dealer need to do something that we cannot?

The Service Manager worked with a Ford Tech (by phone I believe) to apply the fix. They plugged into the OBD2 port as I understand it the updated some part of the software. I was of course in the lounge while all this took place.

OK thanks! I will have to remember to ask dealer during next oil change. 2024 lariat and I don't have the window menu on digital screen. Pressing the remote doesn't do anything. So mine shipped w/o the feature enabled. thx for tip!

I didn't have this option on my XLT because it doesn't have BLIS cameras or high package. I used forscan to add the options to the truck and it works perfectly. They should included this on all XLT's but they probably want to push buyers to the high or tech package to get it (or the lariat)

I called my dealer svc dept who called me back and said they couldn’t find anything on fixing it.

I just used ForScan to enable it on my XLT as well. So far seems to be working well.

ah but there was a recall and re-recall on the power windows. So that might be why ppl getting different info from dealer. And is the new software all fixed and good to go??

Dealers will update the driver door module (DDM) and the passenger door module (PDM) software...
