Isn't there only a tech package for XLT? I think it's included by default in anything that has adaptive cruise control. I'm not sure, but the display of the speed limit on the dash might be available without the tech pkg, but I doubt it.

One thing I'm bummed about this feature, is compared to a rental Hyundai I had, the Hyundai had a high speed and a low speed tolerance setting, so you could set it to auto set your adaptive speed at, say, speed limit + 10MPH for anything over 40MPH, and then set it to 0 over for 40MPH and lower speed limits. this is great for those small town speed traps to force me to slow down. the Ford option is only a single tolerance.

This is off the top of my head, I may be wrong. I'm thinking there was a separate option for Tech pkg and a option for Adaptive Cruise. I would have to go through configuration to confirm. Seems like this would like something Adaptive Cruise would/should need??

It doesn't need it to work. the adaptive cruise control uses the radar sensors of cars in front of you to slow down if the speed setting is higher than the vehicle in front of you. There is an additional feature that you can enable/disable that also will use speed limit signs and keep you within MPH tolerance of the posted limit. By default this was disabled in my truck.

There are atleast two tech packages in the XLT trim for 2024. I have the mid-tech package which does t have adaptive cruse. And in this mid package enabling sign detection is NOT an option. I assume the High Tech package in the xlt trim (which has adaptive cruse) should have sign detection.

Wish mine had it .. but is what it is i guess.

I’ve had the truck now for just over 2 months and will say I have. Love hate tm relationship with the speed limit sign recognition. When it is right it is awesome, but I’m finding a lot of times the map database is wrong so while cruising at 70mph I’ve seen it all of a sudden think it’s 30mph. It’d be nice if it only used the sign recognition and not the map database which is wrong a lot.

I turned sign recognition off. Worked pretty good except everytime I drove through construction area it would slam on the brakes and set the speed to 30mph. People behind me were not happy.

You can turn the speed limiting part of the sign recognition off. That's how mine is setup.

See this thread in this forum to a discussion about a possible link between sudden unintended changes in set cruise speed and speed sign recognition.
