Last night at 10pm I accidentally set off the alarm via the key fob. I carry the remote in my pocket with other keys, etc. Does anybody use a protective sleeve that prevents the buttons form inadvertently being pressed? Or at least makes the buttons harder to press? Any other solution you've come up with?

Because of all the Ranger's electrical business after just opening a door while parked in the garage, I leave my RR key in the kitchen when home.

I’ve done

it too. I have a lanyard, and I do put it in a drawer. But stuff happens

i saw there was a forscan setting where the panic alarm could be changed to two Pushes. I think that would help.

I hadn’t thought of a cover

I have been nervous about this since I bought the truck. Then again this would be with most new vehicles just with how some of the key fobs are designed now. But I have only done this twice somehow. I typically don’t have issues with bigger pockets, but with tighter ones that is where I have accidentally set it off.
Anyone else accidentally set it off and it’s like you just forgot how to use the incredibly simple remote? 😭

Yep! I started her up last night in the process of shutting off the alarm!

My wife would put the keys in her purse and set off the alarm constantly. She now hangs the keys up when she's home and in her pocket when she goes out.

I’ve set it of 5+ times in 3 weeks of ownership

I never had an issue accidentally triggering the alarm in previous vehicles. This is my first ford purchase, so not sure if it’s always this easy or just the shape of the fob, etc

The forscan update to require 2 presses seems promising. Can I ask the dealer to make that change, or is that something I need to get a forscan tool to do?

Ive done it on two occasions, both while sitting and tying my boots with the fob in my pants pocket. Now if I am going to have it in my pants pocket, I put it in this pouch I got on Amazon to block the the fob's signal. This prevents any accidentally pressed buttons from sending a signal to the truck.

When I get home I put my fob in a faraday box I got on Amazon. I find it to be way easier to use than the pouches. I just flip up the lid drop in my keys including the key fob and push the lid down. Easy peasy.

Reviving this because I just got a new '26 RR. I must be misunderstanding the owners manual, because I tried leaving the fob in the truck and it beeped and would not lock. The owner's manual suggests you can leave it in the truck, hit the lock, and the FOB becomes inactive until get in and press Unlock.
"• The system deactivates passive keys left inside your vehicle when you lock it. You cannot switch the ignition on using a deactivated passive key. Press the unlock button on the remote control to reactivate a passive key."
So is the only way to leave a FOB inside a faraday bag/box?

Sorry, can't help you with that. But I did get covers for my keys. They have worked perfectly! Buttons can still be pushed but I haven't inadvertently set off the alarm, locked or unlocked my truck.

It was my understanding that only works if you have a keypad.
So I just tested mine. Took one fob outside,
It will let me lock a fob in the truck if I lock the truck with the keypad.
If I lock and shut the door it honks and unlocks.
If I have the other fob in my pocket, it will let me lock a fob in the truck.
