Before I go to the dealer with this, I thought I'd tap into the collective intelligence of the group for ideas.

I don't like the lane keeping feature and want to leave it off. However, when in Adaptive Cruise Control and selecting a speed, Lane keeping automatically comes on requiring pressing the steering wheel on/off switch to shut it off.

What I've done so far:
- Cycle the on/off switch for Lane Keeping in the center stack control screen, leaving in the off position. Did this both with the engine running and with just the ignition switch on.
- Disconnect the battery overnight.
- Checked for codes - there were none.
- Reboot Sync system

None of these things worked. Any ideas.

My issue with it is that I have it on and test it all the time and have never felt the truck correct me. Had a loaner f150 graciously and the truck would steer itself back to center while driving w/o cruise control. Not sure how to make it work in the ranger yet

I found there are two different systems at play. Lane Centering is explained beginning on page 270 in the owners manual. The Lane Keeping system is explained beginning on page 290. Perhaps you are trying to turn one of these systems off but the other is still working. Hope this helps.

As 452Ranger mentioned, you can turn off lane centering under adaptive cruise but lane keeping is separate and will still come on. That can't be turned off entirely but there is a menu option where it can be set to alert only and the alert level (vibrating of the wheel) can be set to low.

I would get that checked bc I used it on a trip and it definitely basically drives itself

Mine will quite literally keep me in the lane but eventually provide a keep hands on the wheel message.

I learned to keep my hand on the lower portion of the steering wheel and keep just a little bit of tug on it and it stopped bothering me.

This week I have a press ranger raptor, and when I engage cruise control, lane centering stays off and only turns on when I press the button on the steering wheel, which is how it should be.

Here were the settings in the menus on that Raptor, not sure if that helps.

Now if we can figure out how to eliminate having to hit the OK button a couple times every time start the truck. Dang button is going to get destroyed pushing it all the time.

Seat belt on? Ok.
Seat belts off? Ok.
Auto start stop off? Ok.
Door ajar? Ok.
End a phone call and want to go back to the screen you were on? Way more buttons than ok.

Looks like the F150 guys are getting hit with this. I turned off updates on our F150 so I wouldn't get it.

Some recent update I got last month has changed cruise behavior. Used to be that engaging cruise and lane keep were not connected in any way. Now when cruise is enable, lane keep comes on automatically and it has to be disabled every time. I like to use cruise on my commute in traffic and in no way want lane keep. Don't get me wrong, lane keep is great for highway trips at times, but not daily. Is there a setting in the center stack to disable this or a forscan setting so lane keep has to be enabled by itself separate from cruise ?

You can set lane keeping to only alert and the intensity to low. No option I've seen other than the steering wheel to turn it off.

Page 270? Page 290? Where did you get a book or PDF with pages? I've been trying to find one. Thanks.
