LED Matrix Headlights on NA Rangers

Does anyone know if the LED Matrix lights that are on the rest of the world spec rangers will come on the NA rangers?

This is what I've found, the hardware looks identical but i'm not sure if the feature will be enabled. Hopefully it's an easy forscan toggle if this ends up being the case.

from what I just read, it looks like they're legal in the US so hopefully it comes enabled on the truck.

Matrix tech finally became legal in 2022 or 2021, but most manufacturers still seem hesitant to enable it here for some reason.

It seems we are still in that boat since Ford doesn't mention it at all in US-Ranger marketing material. Whereas when the RoW ranger launched, matrix tech was explicitly mentioned.

Doubt we'll see them here in the US for awhile except on high end vehicles. The mfg bean counters axe them plus all the "officials" haven't gotten enough pork money in their pockets yet IMO.

Honestly I would almost prefer that they leave it off by default and can use Forscan to enable the RoW version, because the US Spec for adaptive headlighting still has lower max brightness settings than RoW.

Would probably make it easier to Forscan activate the RoW version.

The Lariat and the raptor have the projector LED headlights. XL/XLT is LED non projector.

The raptor in MX has the matrix lights enabled. I like the fearure a lot, however, it has a SW bug because at times the system loses the lane identification and displaus an error message indicating rhe system is momentarly disabled. The problem is not the message, or that the led matrix feature gets disabled, but the fact that while the message is displayed you cannot turn the high beam on manually with the high beam lever. In some conditions this can be dangerous. I have reported this to ford already

It’s about six lines in Forscan to enable in the F150. It’s called Glare Free headlights. Might take a few weeks for someone to map out the code as thoroughly as the F150 but I’ll bet you can enable it. I’m enabling mine this week.

I read somewhere that when the US looked at the Matrix LED technology, they said they would approve it for use in the US if they would speed up the response time of the system. From my understanding, the hardware in the US Ranger is not fast enough to meet the improved US specs and was thus disabled and will not be enabled. In future model years, they may improve the hardware so that it can meet the faster US spec. This means we will not legally have it available to us unless we get upgraded hardware.

That would suck. I was hoping that forescan would allow enabling of this function manually, very similarly to what some F150 owners are doing. Essentially just turning on what is available to Mexico/RoW trucks, regardless of what US legislation ends at.

Reviving this thread as there are now codes in Forscan to enable this for the F-150. My buddy just did it in his new Lightning. I might give it a shot on our system and see what happens.

Yeah it seems hardware is same as rest of world for headlight. Would be neat to have.
