I have searched the term "Lights" in the forum and have been reading all of them that pertain to exterior lights but not the ones that are for "looks". I'm not against them at all and will be adding the Signature Lux DRL's in the future.

What I want to know is what are the quality light brands? What brands get looked over that are truly high quality for the price? What is everyone running and what are your thoughts now that you have been running gthem for some time.

Any tricks or tips when it come to lights?

I need chase lights, forward facing lights and possibly ditch lights. Oh and some bright white rears. I have considered running the @AdventureLab Bed rail but the BD lights would be 800 bucks! Does anyone make a mount for the bed mounts?

Looking forward to hearing from you. Let's have the good, the bad and the ugly...

KC makes a great product, we just finished installing ditch lights on my son’s Ranger. I’m running Paladins on my Raptor.

I have a pair of baja designs squadron pro pods as ditch lights, a pair of baja designs s2 pro backup lights, and a 20 in s8 light bar. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm mounting the reverse lights and light bar on the RR since I'm not doing aftermarket bumpers like on my previous 2 trucks.

Baja Designs are kinda pricey imo, but I've had these lights for over 7 years on different trucks and they have never given me any issues. They are bright af, look good, and the one time I used their customer service for something, it was outstanding.

I have no experience with other brands, I'm sure there are many others that are great. I just haven't had a need to swap off these since I bought them years ago.

I'm not sure what I want yet and I've no preferences brand wise as I have just dealt with miserable factory lights in the past. Auxbeam seem to be the value king right now, though. I'm probably going to end up trying a few things from them for a few hundred bucks before shelling out for anything serious. I just can't justify spending in some extreme cases 10x as much until I have an appreciation for what it would bring value wise.

Im on the same boat looking for a nice set of lights that not crazy priced but work well..Im trying to find some yellow fogs or yellow driving lights that work in fog and snow, not sure if I want to get a bar and mount lights or do behind grill or if swapping the oem fogs would be ok? I really like the foutz bar very simple and clear just curious if can use drive through car wash.

I've used Diode Dynamics and Baja Designs on my vehicle, Both have been outstanding. I had an issue with 1 light from DD, and they took care of it quickly with no hassle at all. Customer service is top notch.

We will also be offering a Diode Dynamics cutout for our bed rack RAILS. If these worked for you, I can probably accelerate the development of that. Ironically, building the cutout is the easy part. It's setting up all of the data for it to run through production that takes time.

Here is a good, inexpensive, option from Diode. We use a lot of these C2 lights and they work great - https://www.diodedynamics.com/c2-2-0-sae-white-sport-flush-mount-led-pod-pair.html.

That's an interesting option. No need to bump production just yet as I am still working out everything I need to do for this truck. I'm new to trucks in general so there is a tremendous amount of learning to do. Sports cars/racing/instructing have been my life for 40 years. Now I'm a noob again. Lol. There is way more to understand in the off road world than in the car world. That really surprised me but now makes sense that I have dug my heels in.

My main focus is "use case". Once that is completely sorted out I think I will have a clear direction that I want to go. Maybe give you a call so we can discuss. And maybe you can help point me in the right direction. Thanks for the info!

I might challenge the idea that there is more to understand in off road - it's just different variables. In asphalt racing, you’re optimizing suspension geometry, balance, and tire compounds for lateral Gs and milliseconds. In our world, we use those same mechanical principles but solve for vertical travel, obstacle clearance, and manipulate the ratio of convenience to performance. You’ve already mastered the physics; we just need to translate the vocabulary. I actually have a client in your same situation now. That's the one we're continuously building the Raptor R for. That truck has been through a ton of changes, but we evolve it as his needs evolve. Trucks are like grownup Legos.

Happy to hop on a call and help map your track knowledge to the dirt. Shoot me a direct message when you're ready and we can setup a Zoom call.

You're not wrong. The pricipals are the same/similar, it's the nomenclature that I am learning. In road racing we don't have obstacles other than curbing and in the case of Sebring lots of "bumps" so we want to be low but not too low that we start to compromise compression and rebound and the ability to rotate the car when needed. What we also have is a known surface that for the most part never changes unless another car drops something on the surface. Then we have aero considerations to think about too. That's goes away for the most part with off roading. So yeah there is a lot to understand but like you said the principals remain it's the surface and use case that guides the direction.

I would love to set up a call with you, I will DM.

Oh and I think I've seen the videos of the rig you are refering to. Is that Ian's truck?

Agreed!

No, not Ian's. Ian's seems to be pretty well sorted for now. He's adding the Knine fenders soon and I think that one will be done'ish. We just added the Rear Seat Delete and rearranged his bed rack and bed mounts on the last go-around.

It's this truck - 2023 Raptor R. Ironically, the owner has a garage at Sebring.

The next round for this truck will be a RSI SmartCap with a bunch of custom organization inside. Should be a cool setup. He pushes it pretty hard.

Do you think you guys come out with a light bracket for small pods above the intercooler/ next to the plate/radar block? Looks like that fascia has bolt holes into the bumper that are just filled with plastic push pins. I haven't disassembled anything yet since it's winter and can't quite tell by feel if it's sturdy (e.g. connected to steel) enough but have seen other DIY solutions of putting 2 or 4 short 4" pods there.

I haven't noticed that location. I'll go check our truck and get back to you here.

I’ve run Rigid Industries light bars, ditch lights and chase lights on my Jeep and trucks for the last decade. They have performed flawlessly and provide exceptional light.
