Thank you for this post!! Any tricks for removing the mirror shroud? What type of clips does it use? How many are there?
A plastic pry tool probably would have made things easier but not necessary, I have a bunch but was too lazy to walk over to the tool box lol.

The center section removes first but is strapped to the outer shroud. Pull from the rear side of the vehicle and it will unsnap easily, just dangle it to one side and then work on prying the outer shroud off. I don't recall how many clips, maybe 6, but they are all plastic and sturdy so shouldn't have any issues. The hardest part is trying to shoehorn the shroud around and off the mirror. It's a tight fit. Just take your time, the plastic is likely PP or ABS, and it's pliable. There is a clip towards the front side of the vehicle that has a pull tab, kind of weird but didn't pose any issues, just made it difficult to remove not knowing it was there.

Thanks for the wiring.

As for camera, i will be using the combined maxcam 360c detector. Just waiting for blendmount to come in stock.

If you run an escort detector, you could use the piggyback m2 cam.

Looked at your pics again and see you’re running a passport 9500 detector. I installed a m2 cam on blendmount with this detector in my fiance’s ford fusion. You will need to extend the camera’s power lead as the 9500 has the plug on the far side.

I've been using a Blackvue DR900S in my CTS-V and kind if want to stick with the cloud features and park modes and really like the idea of LTE. So I'm leaning towards the Blackvue DR970x plus LTE. Blendmount makes a mirror mount and I'd grab power with a fuse tap from the fuse box under the driver footwell.

Are there any ford parts diagram website similar to realoem.com (for BMW's)? It would be awesome if something like that existed to nail down the part numbers from the AUS trucks with the USB port on the mirror so you could do a factory clean install.

I went ahead and ordered a dash cam and mount. Will try to get it all up there lol. I'll use fuse taps for that and route the wiring as needed.

I did get the 2 channel so looking at the rear, I'm trying to decide how to mount that one with the sliding window. On my CTS-V, I used a bracket that clipped/wedged onto the headliner for the rear cam, but that's not an option for the Ranger. And I still need to get the windows tinted.

Are there any videos yet of removing that rear view mirror cover assembly? Stuck on trying to figure this thing out

Can you explain that pull tab clip on the front side a little more? I have everything off but struggling with that last front clip. Don't want to yank it.

You likely won't break it. But you should be able to pull that long pull tab towards the drivers side (if I remember correctly). If I get time I'll try to remove and get better pictures. I'll likely have to take it off again anyways. Dash cam arrived.

On that note, not sure I can cram both mirror mounts in there. What's needed is a mirror stalk that is about 5mm longer. I'll have to see if I can find one. Getting windows tinted next week including windshield so I can't really use 3M tape.

The m2 cam addition for the blendmount just replaces one of the adjustment bolts with a longer one to mount the cam on. Maybe you could fab a way to bolt part of the cam mount to the detector mount. That way only one mirror stem clamp is needed.

My blendmount arrives today. Not sure I’ll have time to install it before the weekend though.

Ahh interesting. I actually had some back and forth with them as they couldn't recognize the mirror and wanted to make sure the mount I picked would work. They advised that even if both mounts fit, it would be too heavy for the mirror. Probably true but I have both on my CTS-V and it's bared the weight lol. They did mention getting the m2 camera but I want to stick with Blackvue so not really an option. I'll have to look into modification like you suggested. I'd thought about it before and I think you're on to something, surely it can be modified fairly easily.

I figured it out. Once you get those bottom clips undone. And you can feel that pull tab. You have to twist the bottom part of it to allow it to be removed from the mirror cover.

Can you show on the cover what the other clips look like?

I'm gonna be real with all you. That wire seems like a "theft deterrent" sorta wire. Does not seem relevant to actually keeping this cover assembly securely attached. Once you understand how it works getting it off is easy. But in order to re attach it with the rearview mirror still attached seems next to impossible. I just unclipped it and deleted that SOB.
