No, actually the swivel screw for the dash cam is covered by the radar mount. So to adjust the dash you have to remove the radar detector mount. It's a lot of work. But I centered it by eyeball and it was pretty much perfect. Tightened everything up and it doesn't budge, which could be good or bad depending how you look at it.
Was planning to follow in similar footsteps. I meant to ask you how you ended up mounting the rear dash cam?

I ordered one of these today so I'll try and make it work. If it doesn't then I'll just fab something up.

I went with the 2". Doesn't look like the 1" will reach far enough down.

Windows get tinted tomorrow, AC gets fixed finally hopefully Monday.

Everything's coming together. 🙂

The bracket worked decently. Just wedged it between the headliner and did just bend it to clear everything so I can open the window without issues. Works good, I think. Anyways more pics, less talk.

Very cool. Thanks for sharing. I've only installed the 2 channels in my 2 door sports coupes.

Which side of the vehicle did you run the rear channel up? Passenger?

Did running the rear channel cable require removing any roof liner or B pillar trim? Or were you just able to tuck it as you went?

Have you had the opportunity to drive yet? Does that bracket seem secure and tight? No rattle?

Appreciate you trailblazing for us. Think I'm going to order my dashcam tonight lol

I took the lazy route and ran everything on the drivers side. Had to pull the A-pillar out but not remove to run the hardwire kit to the fuse box. A-pillar has that same weird retention clip that's in the mirror shroud, just a much larger version. But it's not an issue; I didn't even mess with it. Everything else was just removing the door seal (front and rear) and tucking the wires into the headliner with a trim tool. Didn't pull the B-pillar, just used tool to feed wires through, just tuck and go.

Just got back from dinner and checked the recordings. Worked really well. Not as solid as the front mount, obviously, but not shaky and no rattles or noises at all. Very happy with it.

Only hindsight is the choice of camera. Don't know if I'm going to benefit from LTE cloud connection or paying for one. Just felt like I really wanted to be able to check on the truck with a live view at any time from any where. Time will tell. Plus I wanted a mirror mount, all the windows are tinted so no sticky 3M tape allowed. Kind of limited on choices so I'll wait to second guess myself for now.

Got my Blendmount today and installed everything using one of my old mirror taps. Took a while to get the mirror shroud off and had fun with the multimeter. Talk about cramped space.

I found 12v and ground on the drivers side wiring harness shown here (the gray harness, not what my finger looks like it's pointing at):

Unplug the harness and tap wires as follows: WHITE = 12v switched, BLACK/PURPLE STRIPE = Ground.

Plug harness back in, put shroud back in place, install mirror mount (or use suction cup thingy) and enjoy noisy alerts when LEO's shoot radar guns at you unless you're in Mississippi, Virginia, or military bases.

Not sure what I'm going to do for a dash cam. There's no way 2 mirror mounts will fit.
Thank you again for this photo and doing the legwork. Just got my V1G2 mounted up and running in 5 minutes. I have less anxiety now.

I ended up modifying the Escort and Blackvue Blendmounts like @jrRaptor did.

For those curious you can reuse the middle screw from the Blackvue stem mount.
The two outer screws were upgraded to:
#6-32 x 2"
#6-32 x 3/4"
Also was able to add five #6 black nylon washers to the outside gap and it seemed to snug up tight and level. I think it's mainly aesthetic especially if you tight the non gapped outer screw down first and then don't over torque the other outer screw with the gap.

Just waiting for my micro 3 fuse tap so I can move forward. Excited!

Hey out of curiosity is this somewhat close to the shape you ended up bending the bracket to? Did you also attach any 3M tape to the small portion that sits above window before the headliner?

I actually didn't bend it very much at all. Wish I'd have taken a picture before installing it. Just took a picture, see if this helps:

And no tape other than the tape to put the camera on. Just wedged in there, friction fit. Doesn't move at all.

Anyone able to tap into the mirror wiring for power (or use dongar product)? Worked great on my 2019 XLT...hoping for a similar solution with new models.

Have you had any issues with gps reception? My maxcam has been able to connect maybe 25% of the time. Swapped in my redline ex with similar results. I didn’t try my 9500 since its a different mount.

With the maxcam on the stock suction cup under the mirror, it works perfectly. It sits ~6in further forward though.

I called blendmount today, and they didn’t have any solutions except a return. I asked if i could purchase some mount components to try and make it work, and he gave me a discount and free shipping at least. With a different pivot bracket and two long extensions, i should be able to move the detector up and forward 3in or so. Hopefully this is enough.

GPS has always been kind of wonky on my 9500, comes and goes, but usually only when I go into a carwash or parking garage. But I did have it rebuilt after it died.
