My 2024's navigation system stinks. I'm taking a road trip tomorrow and half of the stops wouldn't show up in my search menu. I had to use coordinates instead. One hotel that I used the phone number search found the address but using just the address showed "no results" Like I said half of my searches I had to use coordinates instead. Otherwise "no results" Is there a secret?

All factory nav systems are lame, and they never work when you lose your cell signal. Neither do streaming apps (CarPlay), unless you have downloaded all your map data ahead of time.

Buy a good stand alone nav unit, I really like my Garmin DriveSmart 76. Unlike any other nav app I have tried, it ALWAYS tells you the name of the approaching road or feature or point of interest. This is really helpful. The main screen in the following pic is showing saved data streaming from my iPhone using OnX Offroad. That app works great on your main screen, and its beautiful, but saving OnX maps is time consuming and data hungry, don’t try doing it except over Wifi….. But it is a great resource in Utah!

The Garmin is available at a killer price, just $195 at Walmart - regularly $300 - highly recommended!

Walmart - Garmin DriveSmart 76, 7-inch Car GPS Navigator with Bright, Crisp High-resolution Maps and Garmin Voice Assist

I haven't tried navigation, yet.

GPS is supposed to be rock solid. It nearly always has a signal, it's free for everyone, and it just works.

If the GPS in your car ever stops working, it doesn't have a true GPS receiver, or that receiver is being limited, in some manner.

There are precisely zero good reasons to build a vehicle that has a 67" display in the dash without a real receiver.

I've been a Waze user for over a decade, Android Auto was a huge deal to get it on my screen rather than having to look at my phone. Last two vehicles I've owned I never used the factory GPS.
I never use the factory navigation.
