Welp, after 3 weeks of owning the truck, it got jacked up by a few rocks 😑.

Looking for opinions on how to "fix" it. Its on the passenger side of the hood, near the front.

I think that’s going to need to be looked at by a paint shop. Looks like it’s chipped down to the primer - also looks like there’s a small dent in the bigger one too

I don’t think it’s going to be a cheap fix unfortunately

If you just want to make it less noticeable, Dr. Color Chip. I have used them for the last 3 cars. I highly recommend. Just understand that touch up paint is to reduce visual distinction, not to fix.

Either way, you definitely want to protect the raw metal.

+1 on Dr. Color Chip. I've used it too with great success. You just have to be patient and follow the instructions. A paint/body shop will open your wallet for you for this repair.

It does look a little dented, so a paintless dent repair first will aid in success.

Pointless dent repair, then touch up paint. The pointless dent repair probably $200. Touch up pain $15.
There is zero chance in hell that touch up paint is going to make that look anything respectable.

You might try Colors on Parade and see what they think. I used them for 2 hood chips and one in the middle of my passenger door. Note that any paint with flakes in it like the greens and dark grays will not be fully invisible after repair.

That's not true for all cases, FCA actually uses touch up paint for all their vehicles as primary paint. My ram matched perfectly.

More so him trying to fix it himself, not that touchup paint doesnt work.

Once you have it repaired, what do you think about adding a hood protector/rock deflector to the front edge of your hood? That was one of the first things I added to my Ranger after I bought it, get the right one and it protector not only the hood but windshield as well.

I looked at some last night.... not sure right now.. I certainly get the functionality but will it look good?? 👀 for me, debatable.
