I just looked at this and it looks easy to get at from the top with long arms and doable from the bottom if on a lift. The electric brake booster contributes to this as you don't have the brake lines right next to it.

I just did mine a week ago and i did it from the too by reaching down. Only rough part was the factory put it on so tight i needed filter pliers and a two step ladder because rangers arent small trucks anymore

It's one thing to take it out but can you reach down with a new filter in hand and spin it on? Still might be easier to just go behind the tire.

Looks like there's space there to take off AND replace the filter from the top of the engine bay. I'm tall and skinny so I'm optimistic this may work for me and my lanky arms and smaller hands. We'll see when the truck gets here.

I put the filter back on from the top, also. I did the whole oil change like my old ranger and only drained the pan from the bottom
