I always like those 705s! Never understood the crowd who complained about the bolt (6 count) vs spoke (10 = 5 multiplier) count being an issue. Did you stick with 285/70-17 on the AT4? Are you sure you're getting 0.5" diameter and a full 1" width on the tires, vs the visual impact of the wheels being 20mm further out?

According to tirerack that’s the measurement difference between the ko3 oem ford spec and the falken

Same size yes, between little wider tread patch and wheel it looks like alot wider tire

RR OEM comes with BFG K03 in 285/75r17 load rating 116/113/C speed rating S. This is the one:

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=All-Terrain+T/A+KO3&sidewall=Raised White Letter&partnum=87SR7KO3RWL&tab=Sizes

Both are actually spec'ed at ~32.8" ... 285mm * 70% = 199.5mm sidewall / 25.4 = 7.85" * 2 = 15.7 sidewalls + 17 rim diameter = 32.71" diameter. A manufacturer may provide the exact measurement of 32.7" or 32.8" depending on rounding, some round it to 33" nominal. Diameter may also vary based on PSI and C vs E-load rating as stiffer sidewall = less ballooning.

285mm width / 25.4 = 11.2". Most report 11.5", and may achieve that with side tread, misc design variances, etc. The BFG KO3 and Falken AT4W are both reported at 11.5" The only way you would get +1" width is running 305 or 315 width.

Best way to confirm is measure by hand since they're both on hand, but the KO3 will measure taller since they aren't getting squished by the truck weight. Check your PSI on the new tires as well. Tire shops always seem to over-inflate.

Almost all off road OEM tires are more narrow than their off the shelf counterparts of the same size. ESPECIALLY bfg.

Yep, theres a thread from an aussie guy showing two RR next to each other, one bone stock on stock KO3s, the other modified on 33x12.5 Maxxis razors and even though the 33x12.5 is a measly 0.2 in bigger diameter they look huge next to the stock KO3s.

Im going to give the Pirrelli XTM ATs a try once my KO3s are worn out since they have the same tread width as the AT4Ws, but a much lighter weight, even lighter than the stock KO3s.

53lb tire + my 25.2lb Method 705s is 78lbs vs. stock KO3s on beadlocks that weighed a whopping 92lbs.

Thats a massive 56lbs less in rotating mass, no change in tire diameter so I dont need a lift and I get a much bigger tire look which mostly comes from the added width, not the diameter.

Thats the thread, 33x12.5 maxxis vs. 285/70R17 KO3s, they look completely different despite both being 33" size range. I think thats the way to go as there's no change to suspension geometery and likely not any trimming to cleae them even at full compression during jumps or full articulation.

Topher tested them on the Broncos and others have used them in that size (meaning they were e load). Its a highly debatable subject, some people says theres hardly a difference, others say the sky is falling.

I come from the performance car world so im sure e load is still pretty plush compared to a 275/35/R19 Pilot Sport 4S on track springs and dampers that I had in my GT.

If they have a load C by then ill try that, if not ill probably still try the e load.

How much clearance do you have to the crash bars at full lock with the wider tires and Method 703s? My 705s are the same wheel, just a different spoke pattern. I have about a full inch between the edge of the stock KO3 and the crash bars with the 705s (ET35).

So I'd expect the AT4W and XTMs to still have a good 1/2" clearance on an ET35 wheel.

BTW the AT4Ws in stock size look good on your truck. First time ive seen someone go AT4W in factory size. Im either doing the AT4W or the XTMs. We'll see as ive still got some miles left before the stock KO3s are done.

Personally, im actually liking the wider 33s more than 315s which I think look a bit too big for the truck. Its got a more aggressive rally truck / performance car stance that says "I can do more than just go in a straight line or crawl over big rocks at the speed of a dead snail".

I stayed OEM size, ford performance tune warranty will void your waranty with bigger sizes but i think it suits the truck
