Very disappointing!! Production to begin 3 days before contract expires which leads me to believe it’s not going to begin at all until after negotiations.

This sux big time. But with the strike its just as well, as they wouldn't be produced now anyways.

Will be interesting to see how long the strike puts production on hold and how many sales are lost to manufactures who won't be affected by the strike, i.e. Toyota, etc.

Let's not put the cart before the horse. I have faith that they can avoid a strike 🤔

The strike is not a given at this point. The last time it happened was in 2019 at GM and it lasted six weeks. There’s still almost a month of negotiation that can be had.

It's not a given but the list of demands the UAW have makes me think it's inevitable. I don't see Ford giving them all of that and the guy doing the negotiations doesn't seem to be into making concessions.

Maybe UAW are just talking big and will crack, but they seem pretty adamant on their list. We'll see.

Putting on a big show for the media is part of the job. Doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t make concessions. Both sides will certainly make concessions.

Oh they’re voting? I haven’t been following along just going off worker comments
Everything is voted on. The head of the union negotiates and if he gets to the point of making a decision about taking a deal or striking, it goes to a vote.

Typically they vote on willingness to strike regardless of a deal being brokered. I think they have a deadline of the 24th to return that, while they are still negotiating.
