It's difficult to say if it's user error or product issue. I've taken my exhaust on and off at least..50 times if not more. If you don't have the valves seated perfectly, pins, springs, even the flap if you can reach it on some systems. Also most of the time I get a cel just from unplugging them. Clearing the code doesn't help. You can drain the battery, do the calibration on them, or after so many key cycles cel goes away and starts working again. I'd say most of us at one time or another have had one of our modes not work then start working again.

If an exhaust valve cel code is gonna freak you out this much, you don't need to do anything else to the truck. These are still new platforms for us. I'd be more concerned with the shop bouncing off his rev limiter than the cel.
yeah half of me is wondering if I went to the right place, but it was a recommendation from a friend— they’re well known in the BMW community here in queens and have done countless AWE systems, albeit mostly german cars.

Don't worry about it. Yes it sucks, it's a brand new truck. They'll get it taken care of though.

At least your transmission hasn't fell out yet.

We tested our 4.5” tips and felt that the slash-cut profile of the tips with the bumper design of the Ranger Raptor fell short, which is why we went with the 5” straight-cut tips as the final tip option - we felt that they matched the aggressive rear of the Raptor much better.

But we do get that tips are not everyone's cup of tea so for those looking for a more understated look, we also offer our high-clearance BashGuard as an alternative. We do not have plans to offer any additional tip options beyond the 5” Chrome Silver, 5" Diamond Black, and the high-clearance BashGuard.

While we do sell replacement tips separately as you guys have mentioned above (including the shorter body 4.5" slash-cut tips we tested during R&D), the tip outlets will not align correctly with the bumper without modification. For customers who enjoy custom fabrication, those replacement tips are available, but we want to be clear that they would require modification of the system to fit and are not intended as a direct bolt-on replacement.

Thank you for this explanation, saved me $2500

I just got the AWE exhaust installed and it sounds fantastic. My installer had zero issues with the install and the valves work perfectly. The shop owner said it was one of the nicer kits he’s seen in a while. Everything had a good fit and finish.
I was worried about highway drone and so far I have been pleasantly surprised. Rolling at 80mph, the exhaust tone is minimal when driving in the “quiet” setting. Overall I am pleased with this set up. Additionally, I also picked up an AWE Touring catback exhaust for my 2026 BMW M5 and holy heck did it open up the sound of the 725hp beast. Big fan of AWE and good people to work with as well.

Whats your thought on the tone of the exhaust? Anything in particular you can call out? Still on the fence on if this exhaust truly changes the exhaust note of the truck in a positive way.

Thanks!

It’s definitely deeper than stock and much louder. I wanted something that was good quality that worked seamlessly with the stock steering wheels valve controls and this does just that. YouTube videos don’t fully convey the tone that it actually sounds like. I’m happy with it, but I know tone and sound is subjective. I know you can only get so deep of tone on a 6 cylinder engine but for what it is, it sounds damn good.

picked it up from the shop tonight, will upload a better video later on.

Still throwing an engine code and “no available exhaust modes” is written across the dash. I’ll be driving it over to AWE HQ on Tuesday and get it all sorted. They might have an idea of what’s going on.

Concerning sound, I have no idea what mode it’s “stuck” on (my guess is it’s in Normal) but it sounds damn good. Much deeper tone without being annoying. Haven’t taken it on the highway yet so I will update on how that sounds on Saturday. Can’t wait for a proper cold start!

Sounds good. Keep us posted on the valve issue.

Wow, so much hate over an exhaust tip size. I love the equal length design and that it’s deeper, and actually I think the 4” tips are too small. I guess I’m in the minority. The only thing stopping me from buying the exhaust is that I just picked up a 2004 VW R32 and all my modification money is going in to that. Otherwise AWE would already have my money.

In comparison to the stock tips, it looks massive. But after seeing it in person the 5in tip isn’t as obnoxious as people are making it out to be. As @Christian/AWE said, it does match with the aggressiveness of the truck. To each their own though, and at least they leave the option for people to add their own with a simple clamp

@Christian/AWE is this exhaust compatible with the addictive desert design rear bumper?
We design our systems to fit perfectly with the stock rear bumper. Depending on the bumper design it is possible that it will still bolt up, or the bashguard tip may be a better option for you. Feel free to PM me some shots of your truck with the bumper and I’m happy to take a closer look and share any info I have.

Is it possible to purchase the parts to swap between the rear exit tips and the bashguard tips? Trying to not smash the tips while offroad!
