Read Garman post on his 2025 2.3L his reached red on oil temp gauge and then flashed 260 degrees. I don't have any grades near me like he was driving, but when I noticed my oil temperature at 3/4 on my first freeway drive I pulled into a rest area and let it idle in park for 3 minutes and observed no change in oil temperature. Here's a picture after 10min idle 1/4 on gauge, it then goes to the icon around town 1/2 way, freeway 3/4 in other words between icon and H . And I assume if I drove a grade it would redline at 260 degrees!

I'll be curious to know what Ford says. I know on the high output Sprinter 4 cyl when oil temp redline is reached it automatically de-rates till the EOT comes back down. I don't know what that temp is though. Do you know if the Ford de-rates at redline? Strange that it didn't cool down when you pulled over. Maybe more user control over the shutters would help.

Found this on reddit. Oil temperature is a algorithm taken from coolant temperature. It's the computer's error. Sounds good to me. I will bring the screenshot with me to my Dealership.
