You have to ask for full synthetic.
Noted and thanks for the heads up. I wonder if they use Mobile 1 for full synthetic

I'm going to do my first change after break-in with the Motorcraft synthetic blend and then change to a full synthetic thereafter.

So, things may have changed and I am no expert, BUT it used to be the rule of thumb was to NOT use synthetic too soon in a new car. You WANT the new parts to wear where they need to wear i.e. break-in. The thought was that synthetic may be too "slippery" and not allow the wear that is needed for break-in. Caveat - I worked for a Chevrolet dealership, but that was in the early 90's. Loooooong time ago...

By 1000 miles the engine should be broken in enough to put in full synthetic oil.

Agree 100%. Some folks change the initial oil around 200-300 miles to get rid of all of the potential shavings / bits / pieces that may have gotten in the pan during build. But, by around 800 or so, I would think you are good.

Engine tolerances, seals, gaskets and precision have greatly improved since the early 90's. Today many high performance motors come from the factory with full synthetic oil.

I'll stick with the Ford's recommended fill for oil and filter.

My Ford Dealer (Germany) put 0W30 in my Raptor. I ask him, why not 5W30 and he show me on his Ford System in the Computer, that this is the right Oil for this Raptor with this VIN!?

And the first oil change is recommended at 5000 - by then it is definitely broken in.

I always did that with my brand new motorcycles for that very reason.

I’m with the OP; I’ve been using a Amsoil for years and will continue with the new RR. I buy my own oil and filter, and then have the dealership perform the service so they can’t screw with me on the warranty. I have them note on the ticket the brand of oil and viscosity as well as the brand of filter.

I prefer to do it myself and then usually mark it somewhere in the owners manual. Unfortunately, we dont get a manual. Wish there was somewhere else we could put it so it shows in the system it was done.

You can add self-service entries to your FordPass account online. Used to be able to add them in the FordPass app until they recently upgraded to an "improved" version.
