Kirkland meets the WSS-M2C961-A1 , but I haven't seen the newer WSS-M2C971-A1 spec listed yet.
That 6 in the WSS number represents GF-6/SP oil. WSS 7 represents GF-7/SQ oil.

Ford’s WSS Spec. oil is higher than GF-6 or 7 for wet belt BTW.

I would think Kirkland oil will meet this spec shortly, they've always kept up with the other updated requirements.

As an FYI - the Red Line Professional Series 5W30TD EURO Motor Oil meet the spec. This oil series is a Group III/Group IV PAO base stock oil. The Red Line Performance Euro-Series 5W30 Motor Oil is an Ester/PAO based oil that does not meet Ford's spec.

Red Line MT-90 is in my Miata MT. AN (alkylated naphthalene) has taken front seat from Esters to pair up with PAO. That had me interested with Mobil 1 Truck and SUV with AN that pairs well with non-polar base stock.

Whatever full synthetic is on sale at the auto parts store when my oil change is due. Typically Castro Edge.

I'm just personally not seeing a reason to use anything other than MC FS 5W-30. Unless you just enjoy doing UOA's and buying random 5W-30 brands in hopes of getting a UOA that's better than what you would get with MC and also hoping you don't run into wet belt compatibility issues down the line (i.e., like 10 years from now), what is the point?

OE oils are what every car mfg. does all their testing on. It's a known good quantity. Period. None of us have anywhere near the lab facilities to really meaningfully improve upon it and any improvements one might happen upon are miniscule.

Go over on the Mustang6G or any other forum and start digging through UOA's (or Bob Is the oil Guy forum, dedicated specifically to that), the differences are pretty small. And you're going to save how much on a oil change with all that potential risk?

I mean think about it. You want to save ~$20 or ~$30 on a oil change for a truck you paid 60k for that uses premium gas which it consumes like a Russian sailor does his vodka? Seriously, I'm really having a hard time wrapping my brain around "oil is where I'm saving money on my RR".

Don't forget, all the Raptor race trucks run MC factory oil! They run Shell 93 V-power gas. Those are production classes. Ford ran the first Ecoboost F-150 engine in a race truck on factory MC blend, not even FS, then took that engine out, did 160k simulated long term wear, then ran it 24hrs at WOT on a nascar track towing max load, then did the live tear down. Their engines, mfg. and oils have also gotten better since then.

If it's good enough for Baja 1000 and Finke, it's pretty darn good!
