Painting / tinting orange side markers and 3rd brake light with VHT Nightshade spray

Two of the many laws enacted for automobiles in 1968 by our federal government were:
1) All vehicles must have side markers
2) All vehicles must have shoulder harnesses for driver and passenger.

For us Mustang lovers, this change is obvious between 1967 and a 1968. So if you are looking at a Mustang without side markers.....it's a pre 1968. Go head and dazzle your friends with this vast knowledge base

Pictured are my VHT Night Shade painted side markers and 3rd brake light on my Leer shell (which came silver.....yuck.) I LOVE this product because it sticks well to plastic and if you spray it on too dark, just take a towel and polishing compound and polish however much you want off to get the transparency and shade you desire. Easy breezy.

To each their own. This is one of those things I barely notice and certainly wouldn't bother to do anything about. But I'm glad you like the result.

....anyway you want them to look. They are a tint and can be adjusted to taste. My objection is the 57 year old.....never been revised of changing.....bright orange that fits in with...........?

But to your question, even though I live rural.....if the fool can't see my headlight peripherals.....and need a silly light that side markers are "required to be"....than that's the issue, not the tint. Same same with a 3rd light on a shell. Ford makes the best brake lights in the business and a tint on a multi-led light......isn't a difference.

There is a reason for side marker lights and it is safer for you and for me.

and there is a reason they are specific colors

and there is a reason for the third brake light.

and like limiting tint on side and front windows there is a definite reason for them and it impacts the safety of other drivers.

After working nights shift for mosx̌t of my 34 years, I can say the front side markers came in handy clearing intersections . I like the smoke tint but I want the led lined ones. You can put a piece of orange reflective tape just under a body line that helps with being seen but doesn't stick out during the day
