I wouldn’t presume to speak for the best and brightest, but as an owner of a ‘25 model I continue to be disappointed that this feature was eliminated. The least ford could do is be honest: they’re f%#*ing cheapskates and removed it to save a buck.
Ford has always removed feature in order to save a buck. Ford removed some of the tie down hooks in the bed of the 5G to save cost. They were available for sale, at a MSRP of $125 per pair. No way that should cost that much.

No worries, you've demonstrated in past you are not one of the best nor the brightest.

I have a 2025 Ranger Raptor. Do you think the park assist could be turned on with Forscan?

not sure where you're getting you info but Ford was completely honest when they announced it was being removed. their internal data showed that most owners never used the feature at all and removing it from future cars would save the company ~$10 million annually.

While it’s offered on a wide range of Ford and Lincoln vehicles, Ford is reportedly pulling the plug on Active Park Assist moving forward as part of a $2 billion money-saving program. In a conference call with analysts conducted earlier this week, Ford COO Kumar Galhotra explained that connected vehicle data collected by the automaker shows that few owners ever use the system.

According to Galhotra, eliminating the self-parking function would save the company around $60 per vehicle, or about $10 million per year.
why would a business keep a product that wasn't being used by their customers? clearly there is not enough value to continue installing it, especially with the added complexity of the e-shifter which just means more things that can break.

BTW, it's on vehicles without the e-shifter as well. My Ranger has the mechanical shifter and the Park Assist.

the mechanical shifter vehicles have park assist v1 where the car can steer itself but the user still has to shift and accelerate/brake themselves.

the e-shifter vehicles use park assist v2 where the car shifts, steers and accelerates/brakes by itself, basically making it completely automated.

Just to clarify, I never said (nor did I mean to imply) that it wasn't announced ahead of time. I'm disappointed that it wasn't even an option, especially given that much of what's required is still in the vehicle. I agree that forcing it on the masses who don't want it isn't wise or good business, but it's helpful for some of us who don't daily-drive a larger vehicle like the ranger (or for newer drivers in the family) and often need to park in tight spaces. Even the feature of scanning for adequate spots is helpful in chaotic urban environments, and that wouldn't require the e-shifter to enable. Aside from this feature, and its subset of features (like the aforementioned scanning for spaces) is just another feature on a list of distinguished features that are eliminated. The dc charger in the bed? Easy to argue that many or most didn't use it. But then why not eliminate the 110v charger in the bed? Frankly I'd have paid for the dc charger if I had to. AC vents for the rear? The rest of the world gets them so why not us? Other, less expensive fords also get them.

But as for the e-shifter, I'm not convinced it's a problem area. I haven't heard of failures, and such shifters are commonplace in vehicles from entry-level up through extravagant luxury cars. It's not so different than the rotary shifter that's in our new bronco sport and a gazillion other fords made today.

TLDR; all I'm saying is that I'm disappointed.

I think people get pissed that they remove and option to save FORD money but don't adjust the price of the vehicle to save the BUYER money.
