Auto Owners. They have our vehicles, our house, and our exec. umbrella policy. My agent is an independent and this is one of his go-to's. I have had 2 homeowner claims with them and they were great to work with. Also had 1 auto accident claim and 3 windshields now and all went very well.
I had State Farm for probably 20 years, but got keistered a couple times and finally had enough. They used to be fantastic, but then it turned into a penny squeezing game with some flat-out lying with two different agents.

I use a broker today and Auto Owners is where we are at now. Had them for 2025 and just cut the checks for the annual premiums on some of the vehicles and the house for 2026. Thankfully haven't had to file any claims, but it's easy enough to use with great pricing relative to others. I am saving an insane percentage relative to State Farm with even better coverages in some respect.

I also have Hagerty for some other things.

You might consider evaluating your insurance company on cost, coverage, and service alone. Then, whatever company you choose, familiarize yourself with their policies and tools for setting preferences. For example, in the case of your American Family Insurance they have an opt-out policy which you seem to have missed: https://www4.dncsolution.com/DNE/Manager/OptOutCode/OptOut.aspx?el=5

I too have spent considerable time setting up separate mail accounts for various vendors, but after years of doing so the one thing that was obvious to me was that it did nothing useful regarding spam volume. My time is much better spent pouring through preference setting with any vendor or company I interact with, along with mail client rules and filters to manage what’s important to me that I see or don’t. That said, in this case it was helpful to know which company you overlooked the opt-out setting for.
All I did was a phone call to add one new vehicle. Over 10 years insurance without issues. I sent a email to their privacy inbox to cease. Thanks for your response, and your link.

my wife had GEICO due to cost but check your amount of coverage, she was in an accident on the highway in New Hampshire and she was the only car out of seven that had insurance. New Hampshire doesn’t require car insurance, car inspection, or helmets on motorcycles……LIVE FREE OR DIE!
low cost not much coverage- change to full coverage maxed Out with TRAVELERS - THEY OLD SAYING IS YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR….Oh all she had with GEICO $25,000 Max. You can’t find a car for that as you can tell not my favorite insurance company……..

I think these days most representatives just use the same interfaces and portals that you have access to, so they might have toggled that option, or if it’s new since you last visited their portal perhaps it defaulted to on when a change was made. But no matter, my point was that this type of thing is very common, so ditching what otherwise might be a good company for you to do business with because of it might be, to coin a phrase, throwing the baby out with the bath water.

My point is when the policy was made I did make it known not to do that. Once I changed my email using "Hide my email" according to the form I need to send them another block on that email. The privacy agreement was for the policy, not the email. Everyone is different and have different standards. For me, the win-win is time to go shopping. (for a better deal)

I had State Farm for decades but got pricey. Changed to AAA which cut my premiums in half. I have my house, cars and umbrellas through them . Claims handled quickly and fairly without any issues.

I have State Farm. Had them since I was 18 (67 now.) I have all of our vehicles, house, tractor, Gator, etc. with them.

I have a clean record, no collisions or claims for years. Last year I checked a few other companies and every one of them was hundreds higher than SF for the same coverage. One place (Farmers Insurance) even told me that it’s hard to beat SF rates - they never can.

FWIW, I know rates can vary widely on your location and driving habits. SF just has the lowest around here.

I had Progressive since 2010, on a '95 F150 (liability only) then minimum full coverage (15/30/15) on a '21 Ranger. That was $125/month. When I went to change over to the '24, it would have been $320/month for same 15/30/15.
Went to State Farm for $150 with 50/100/50 coverage, plus rental and windshield.
Still kind of high, but this is Louisiana where half the drivers are uninsured.

Doesn't matter what we use, your insurance is based on you, your location, credit score, and so much more. Go online and fill out a bunch of quote forms and see who works best for you.

USAA here. Always been great. On the few occasions I've needed them, they've done right by me for sure. Wouldn't switch, even if others were cheaper.
