LOTS of fast gravel and dirt roads locally, my wife and I will be exploring the easier tracks around Moab next April, the White Rim Road for sure. The RR replaces a Land Cruiser 200.

I am fine with lots of dust, but I hate mud with a passion and try to never drive in it.

Looks like you are a little southwest of town.

Those pics are due west of Spokane and north of Reardon, in a zone of rolling wheat fields between Interstate 90 and the Lake Roosevelt Recreational Area. These back roads are pretty much deserted except during harvest time. You do have to slow for the occasional farm houses, so you don’t dust them, and on blind rises (coyote and deer). The summer roads are completely unimproved farm or powerline access roads, and they may be completely impassible after a storm. The RR was made for this….

I wasn't planning on it, but I'm hooked now..
Yes, It's on my list to do. I saw someone here post pics with there RR and was just loved it.
Let's go! It's an amazing playground for the Raptor... Was out there again this past weekend, near the 'Truckhaven' area. This truck is perfect for playing around and exploring around here.

Man that looks fun. I'm busy with work and my next vacation time I plan to use it for the Utah Ranger Assault school but YES. I will be taking it to deserts in California. I might post here to see any SoCal off roaders like yourself is interested when I do go.

That is where I’ll be going with mine. Used to go out there with my Bronco I traded in for this Raptor.

Do you have your Raptor yet? I went out again this weekend... Fish Creek Wash & Sandstone Canyon, then back up to the Truckhaven area and Tectonic Gorge and a few other trails.

I'm only here for a few more months... would be great to explore with a few other Raptors!

Cheers.

Plan to build an overland camp truck
Okay so this is my dilemma currently, stock for stock, the zr2 is better equipped. If you add most tech/safety options, ventilated seats, comes with MT tires and 3 inch lift and under body cams, and can add the front AEV bumper and winch and would be cheaper than the raptor and better for overland or any offroad really, why go for raptor for overland/off-road ?

To be frank, I have a 2019 Ranger Lariat FX4 but have never been off-road with it and do not plan to. I will probably replace it with the Ranger Raptor when the time comes, but I have no plans to take one off-road either. I like to drive a vehicle that is ready for bad roads, bad weather, and snow banks, just in case, and off-road-oriented trucks fit the bill for me. Not to mention the elevated seating position in the cabin, the music system, the joys of tailgating, etc. They are not just for off-roaders anymore...
I am the same way. Most I ever off-road my Lariat is the little dirt trail to the shooting range. I want to keep this truck nice and stock, also light. I already had my off-road phase and built a 5th gen 4runner i traded, but that 4.0 was so slow and thirsty and with all the added weight i was getting like 14-15 mpg 😅

Yes I have my Raptor. Would love to go out but have to take a rain check. Wife had a small medical emergency so I am unavailable for the next few weeks.
