I’ve been hearing a pop/click sound coming from the engine bay occasionally when I’m around the car (car is off). The sound signature and volume sounds similar to when you lock/unlock the car. For example, when I go in the garage, the car makes the sound sometimes. Not sure if it makes the sound when I’m not in close range.

Wondering if anybody has noticed the same thing? I’m guessing it may be some sort of detection mechanism for the key fob that readies the car in case you want to unlock and enter (my car has the keyless entry function). It’s probably an expected occurence, but still, would love to confirm my suspicion.

It’s something newer vehicles are doing. My other vehicle does same thing. My fobs are close enough for vehicles to detect them in the garage. Throttle bodies, brake boosters, and fuel pumps are active at times.

Mine does that even if the key is nowhere near it. I'm sure it does it if no one is around too, just no one to hear it. I think it's just dreaming while it sleeps.
Same here
Guessing maybe sending info to app

Both my Ranger and wifes Bronco Sport make the same little whizzing and whirring sounds off and on at various times. Figured it is just the way vehicles are nowadays with the self diagnostic and module sleep cycles.
