well it has a different bore and stroke and adds port injectionI'll believe that when Dyno comparisons are done and quarter mile times are done, and mileage. If it does deliver slightly more it wont make a difference in it's utility. I can't imagine Ford spending the money to develop an entirely new (same size) engine and it's development costs.
those seem pretty significant to me
ultimately I’m sure it is about money, probably more commonality
and fuel efficiency, as there have been, federal mandates on that
i don’t imagine there is a huge difference in utility (as you state) even if the peak horsepower were to be different
I’d be curious if there is any increase in the torque at lower rpm’s which might actually be useful
I haven’t seen any dyno tests, Bronco, Ranger etal comparing the two versions of engines
which I find surprising given today’s YouTube click on link world
