I run a custom Auto Octane tune from ZFG in an unlocked PCM. I used HP Tuners to get the stock tune for my truck via a virtual read and saved that for when I should ever need to revert to stock. In my experience most flsh or piggy back tunes will give you similar power levels for their stage that uses all stock parts. Obviously flashing in a tune will gove you the possibility to make the vehicle feel better and maybe squeeze more power out of it, but the downside is that if it doesnt work properly you cannot disable it like you can with the piggy back.
As an added advantage, I can make my own tunes based on that stock calibration and flash them into the unlocked pcm too.
