25 Ranger Raptor on dyno to get base-line power level prior to engine modifications. Made about 336.5hp at the wheels on 93 octane.

Are you going to dyno it after each mod to see what they each make?

Thanks,

Following. Appreciate the data gathering during build process.

If its not too much to ask, can you measure the old or new turbos compressor inlet and outlet, for intake and charge pipe connections? Im planning a 2.7 build with 3.0 powermaxes, intake, charge pipes, and intercooler for maximum airflow, but powermaxes come next year. Doing all the supporting mods this year and only thing I need and can't find is the 3.0 turbos compressor inlet/outlet measurements- for silicone stepdowns to fit the 2.7s turbos until then.

Thank you if you can, no problem if not ill just enjoy this builds updates.

DISREGARD. DirtDerrick was able to provide the information i needed, and probably earned some sales from me soon.

Thanks,
No, I’m not going to dyno after each modification. Some items such as the turbos and downpipes/cats logically make sense to change both at same time—as you have to remove the original cats/downpipes to change the turbos. Changing turbos, you have to drain coolant—might as well install thermostat and Water Heated AIG catch can. Logistically, it is difficult to do all of those dyno runs after every modification.
I do have a draggy, and made a few test runs before mods and I can use it to gauge improvements later.
I am also using the same or similar parts as several have done before—I am not recreating the wheel. I have spoken with several different builders and received assistance on parts and process. One vendor on here, DirtDerrick, helped me immensely getting my original plan together while I was waiting for my truck to be built—it didn’t include new turbos at first. We had a plan to make way more power than I thought I originally wanted. I bought parts from DD, and piled them up in my office before my truck arrived. Then, I got my truck and I don’t know what happened, first time I drove it, it was so fun, I wanted more. I watched some videos of 600hp RRs and got bit by the bug. Final straw was while I was at Raptor Assault school, DirtDerrick sent out the advertisement for the Garrett Powermax turbos and my build changed directions rapidly. I had just received the SPD downpipes I ordered from him a day before I went to Raptor Assault—and didn’t even have time to install them yet—and I thought, “While I’m in There”, might as well add some new turbos. We talked, new plan, and I had to have a set immediately.

Parts being installed now: Process West Stage 2 Charge/Crossover Pipes/Intercooler, Cold Air Intake, Turbosmart Blow-Off Valve. SPD Catted Downpipes, Thermostat, AIG Air/Oil/Separator (AOS), and new Tune.

Other non-engine stuff installing at same time, Mishmoto Transmission Pan, Process West Trans Cooler, Faust MotorSports Rear Shock Guards, Sensor shields, Lower Control Arm Skids, Rear Differential Skid.

I did my first oil change at 2000miles. I also took a sample of the oil and sent it to Blackstone Labs for analysis. I did not want to add performance parts to a sick engine (a lot of new car engines seem to be having all kinds of problems). The report came back with a clean bill of health —it had elevated levels of copper, iron, and silicone—which is exactly what it should be for a new engine properly breaking in.

The dyno run conducted last Friday provided data for the tuner, and gave me a baseline for all the modifications.

Hey if you haven't already, with everything you're doing, these plugs. I get them from ZFG and have him gap them based on my current mods, that price is with ZFG gaping them.

Did you install a cat-back exhaust?

Oh very nice, I started going down the rabbit hole with my 2.3L Bronco before trading to my RR. I just have the Ford tune for now, but I really want to do most of what you are doing minus the turbos for now. It's such a fun truck to drive.

You are so right—the truck is a blast to drive. When I first ordered the truck, I was only going to do the Ford tune like you. While waiting for the truck to be built (6months), I started reading on-line forums, watching YouTube videos etc, and let’s be real—6 months is a long time to wait twiddling my thumbs. Before I knew it, I had a pile of parts in my office that were twice the size of my desk—and the truck still hadn’t arrived. Last month, my wife told me if I ordered one more part for my truck, I was in the dog house. That is why I ordered the “pair” of turbos—wasn’t “one”. My next pics might be of my new dog—I mean my new room mate.
