incorrect. some cars w/ electronic shift have a shortcut. Car will automatically shift to P if turn car off while in D or R. No need for driver to shift from D to P and then push start/stop button and then apply parking brake. Can just hit off button and car will shift to P, put on E-brake, turn engine off. Kinda nice, one button power down sequence!Let's make this simple so some among us can understand. Ready? Here goes. When you park an automatic transmission equipped vehicle you ALWAYS place the gear shift into the "PARK" position, any other operator behavior is, simply put, WRONG. Not need to refer to the operators manual. Does this resolve any questions?
