Slightly off-topic:
I got to drive a friend's new 2024 F-150 V6 Powerboost twin-turbo hybrid Platinum (430HP, 570 lb-ft torque) last night. Pro Access tailgate is nice. The ride is great because of the longer wheelbase. I really liked it but am still sold on my Ranger Raptor. My friend was impressed driving my RR, but said he needs the long box.
The $89K fully-loaded platinum is also more than I wanted to pay for a truck.
Estimated mileage is 22-24 mpg.
Also, the 232" length likely would not fit in my garage stalls.

I'm guessing eventually the Rangers will get a hybrid platform, too, in the USA.

We have a 2021 powerboost. They do ride nice and get great gas mileage. They are pretty quick for such a big heavy truck. I'm pretty sure it will outrun our Raptor. But the Raptor is much more fun to drive.

My father has a loaded '21 F-150 XLT. It really rides nice and has payload capacity to haul oak firewood, which heats (Wilkening Mfg built-in fireplace) his big log lakehome, even to below -20 deg F. during the winter.
Yes, 0-60 MPH times are likely a bit better than the RR, but not by a lot.

The Aussies are getting a plug hybrid option for the Ranger, not US. I kind of like the idea of a hybrid as you can use it to power a trailer or a campsite.

I bought my RRanger because I know my Powerboost will be back at the dealer sooner or later for another extended stay..

Fought lots with batteries, replaced the exhaust system due to failed exchanger solenoid. She was out of commission all of last summer waiting on parts.. at least in the warmer states you can bypass that system and forget about it.

The Powerboost is awesome if you can stay on the stock tires and keep the box empty. 34" Duratracs and 200 lbs in a decked toolbox nets me 14mpg.

seems like Aussies are always getting new rangers before us. the ranger is actually a huge global platform.

The latest scuttlebutt is that the North American refresh for the 2028 model year Ranger will offer a hybrid option. Most likely the PHEV that ROW has now.
