Great to meet you and @BEEZ1665!!!

Surprisingly I didn't take too many pictures... Probably because I was in sensory overload with all the stuff going on, but still enjoyed!

My filthy ride! Although it did get a minor rain wash while making a quick stop by Phoenix to say HI to a couple friends before hitting my stop in San Diego.

My jump was late Saturday afternoon, right after a Bronco Raptor overshot the second jump and sent a couple to the hospital. The instructors put everyone on notice to keep it under 45 mph so the Raptor Rally could come back to Havasu next year. As much as I wanted to send it, I played it safe. No big air, but still had a blast.

Here's the smaller Baja Loop, the whoops at the end make me want to upgrade my bumpstops.

I would have loved to do this, if I had known about it. Maybe next year. Would be awesome to get a bunch of PNW owners to meet up and caravan together.

Steve, my middle brother lives in Snohomish. I get up there from time to time.

Some of those photos of the jump look to be a good 18 - 24 in of air. That's quite a bit for a production truck on hard pack dirt! I see people getting 36 in + on sand.

Whoops are always a weak spot for ANY production vehicle. Weight. Production trucks / vehicles are heavy compared to S x S and have less suspension travel. They just can't hit nearly the same speeds over whoops as purpose-built tube frame off roaders that are lightweight.

Jounce bump stops may help some, but it's not going to net you much more speed, mostly it will just soften the bottom outs.

On the flip side, production trucks have higher top speeds, usually better acceleration, far more durability (as the miles pile on, many S x S's need engine rebuilds at 30k, especially the turbo engines), have longer driving ranges especially since you can carry much more fuel, can carry a lot more cargo, offer significant protection from the elements in extreme weather and are far safer in a collision.

But whoops are the weak spot of street vehicles due to the mass. At Silver Lake, the S x S we rented could hit 35 MPH and just bomb over the whoops where EVERY production truck was limited to about 20~25 MPH.

The only "quasi-production" trucks that could go faster were some purpose built tube frame Trophy trucks that were there with 30in of travel. Yah they were 3 tons, but had the mass travel to just soak it up.

Other than the Turbo S x S however, my Raptor went up the dunes better because of the power. It just clawed it way straight up where the NA S x S we rented bogged down so badly, we were going maybe 2-3 mph at the top and just barely were able to get up. Not so much traction issue as a power limitation (that was pedal to the floor).

But going down the dunes into a whoop, even with the S x S we had to slow down to 25 MPH or the nose would just dive into the sand and you would neck breaking whiplash.

How do you have those LP4's mounted? They look awesome there.
