Has anyone attempted to move the electrical connection assembly under the rear bumper, from that vulnerable location, to the traditional location left of the license plate? There is plenty of room on the bumper and less chance of damage off-road. Problems? Any wire length issues?

I believe it was located under the bumper for clearance with the full size spare in the Raptor.

There's no room on the bumper with a European sized license plate.
Fair, but then why does the NA Ranger (non Raptor) have it in the bumper where a euro plate would block it? Those who fit a 35” spares commented on how little clearance there is behind the spare, even with a 33 when people have installed lighting in the bumper it’s pretty tight there.

World platform I'm guessing. Just because they are assembled in Flint doesn't mean they aren't using the same parts and suppliers as other assemblies.

So by that logic, why have it as an option in NA for non Raptors if it means different parts? Also the Ranger and Bronco models are assembled in Wayne, MI, not Flint.

Can confirm this damages easily. Mine went from | to / after it got caught in some dirt. Next time it will probably fall off.

I think the clearance issue makes sense, but it seems like a big oversight for off-roading. Wonder if Ford has any plans to address this in future models? Probably not, but we can hope.
