I believe it may stand for electronic parking brake.
It seems they eliminated the rear drum brakes and utilize electronic system to squeeze the caliper for the emergency brake.

Yes mine is electronic on my current vehicle but it is still a parking brake. It really can't be used in a emergency anymore as its either on or off. At least with a lever/foot one you could put it on gradually and slow yourself down if you know how which I am going to say 90% of people don't know how

BTW, I found out that the electronic e-brake can act like the old school brakes in that you can use it in an emergency! The manual goes over it. I tried it going 15 MPH in a parking lot and it was pretty abrupt but it did stop me without just locking up the rear wheels!
