Has anyone removed the rear seat from a four door? What's involved? I want to make more room for my dog on an upcoming long trip.

supereasy...lift it up and you will see two hinges...jsut unscrew and you are done

if you want more room for your dog you could think of those mattresses that fit the leg space and go over the central tunnel making everything flat and big with the rear seat

removing the rear seat will expose a lot of unpleasant stuff for your dog, like the two toolboxes holes..

How big is your dog?
I got one of these and it worked perfectly for my 2 medium size knuckle heads.

By the way, my dog is 120lb and is as comfy as home on rear seat

Thanks to both of you. She rides fine on the rear seat as it is for short distances. I take her to work with me everyday. I was thinking of removing the seat, putting down a sheet of plywood covered with a blanket and placing her bed on top. Doing a 14 hour drive over Christmas and want her as comfortable as possible.

Bump old thread...
I have a great pyrenes that I want to take along on some overland adventures and was thinking about this as well. He will want to sit up and there is not enough headroom for him on top of the back seat. My concern is unplugging all the electronics attached to the rear seat and if it will set warning codes that will annoy me. I plan to build a plywood platform to cover the tool boxes and pad up for him.

Did you come up with a solution?

Goose Gear makes a rear seat delete system for the Broncos. Might be some inspiration there.
