I guess I got inspired to look at the rear seat vent that goes under the seats.

the existing vent exhaust blows out too low right into the carpet and mat bump.

so I though why not deflect it upward?

the factory part pulls out very easily and on closer examination it is the female part and the male mate part way under the seat is squished down. That likely restricts some flow.

after sitting in the back seat, I didn’t think extending the vent back was a good idea since it would interfere with passengers seats

in all honesty very little air comes out these vents, even on max fan and only lower vents on

surprisingly just taking the factory part out seemed better than leaving the factory part in

you aint the only one. lol I recently found a ford dealer in the uk that has a parts website like here in canada. where you can see exploded parts diagrams and numbers, so ill be comparing the diagrams and seeing if even if part numbers are different(so you cant order them in north America, after giving my cousin in the parts dept at my dealer some aussie ford part numbers, and they come up as invalid ffs. lol) and if it looks like it will fit, or similar, we might be able to make them work. lol

From the initial investigation I have done, it seems more complicated than just adding vents. It seems it is an entirely different hvac system that would require tearing apart not only the center console but the dash and engine compartment. Maybe someone is working on a US conversion behind the scenes since the parts exist in the Australian, Thailand, EU and other markets. But I haven't seen anything currently

yes, some day I’ll get of my lazy @#$ and make these and other things available

maybe start a global 3d print thread as others have some nice designs

I will be honest and say in this particular design, the air flow is so anemic through the ducting, I’m not sure it is worth doing.

I said UK. it was actually Australian. and they dont look all that different in reality someone could 3d print an adapter to go from the foot vents under the radio, to the vent ducting you have to run under the center console, then run the aussie console vents. I had my console apart twice, the bracing and mounting points, and clearance where the ducting run are there for the console vents.

I never paid attention tho, and there could be blanks where the console ducting goes already.

I was installing diode dynamics ambient lighting footwell kit, amd under the front seats. and ran everything under the console. and when I yook my dash apart looking for the intragrated trailer brake controller plug as my truck happe ed to be prewired for nesrly everything else(spoiler didnt find it. lol)

I guess the issue is those vent pathways are pretty skinny and torture the hell out of the airflow.

Based on what I can feel coming out of the rear vents I am not sure it is really worth the effort.

really what you would want is a separate fan and temperature control for the back seat occupants

on the other hand the cab is so small and there are windows right there including the option of the back sliding window, I don't think it as much of an issue as we think.

Who has ridden in the back seat for any distance?

I might experiment on my grand kids......

you remove the ducting going down under the seats that have meaningless airflow, and instead divert them to the console ducting. I think the problem is in the obvious restriction in the bends, meanwhile the rear console ducting is larger and more straight

maybe, hard to tell from that image how big it really is. The existing ones are not very big.

and less than finger width underneath the seat where it seems to have been crushed down.

Either one doesn't look ideal since their are shared with the front bottom vents?

Have we heard from our Australian counterparts on how well this vent system works?

Are these confirmed to be supply vents, rather than return/re-circ vents?

‘the diagram shows them going to the same place as our underneath seat vents and the rest of the world description is vent

any rest of the world owners with the rear console vent want to chime in?

i am really interested if any significant air comes out of them.
