I just installed these Redline hood struts, on my 25' Lariat FX4, and they were pretty simple to instal but, kinda a PITA. The lower bolt is a little hard to remove and replace with the rear bracket. Just hold onto the bolt otherwise it will dissappear between the inner/outer fender (A little masking tape helps keep the bolt in place)..
When installing the struts after both brackets are installed, it requires the hood to be raised higher than the prop rod. This is where person #2 comes in handy. It took me more time to find a deep well 13mm socket and a regular 13mm socket than almost the whole install.
End result is a smooth opening/closing hood without the PITA prop rod!
