I have read reviews, forums , etc. On Rangers for 2 yrs, looked at them. I found one I liked, ready to pull the trigger. I test drove a 25 v6. I dont really need the power. I like other characterics sound, smooth, etc. Im older. Have some medical issues. My every day car is a 2014 camry with fly by wire throttle. I found the ranger throttle very sensitive compare to my camry.
If compared to my 94 f150. I expect throttle difference? 4cyl has same throttle.

Has anyone else noticed thjs moving maybe from a older car, or is it just me ? Loved the truck. Pretty good deal.

Thks for ur input.

I don't notice the sensitive throttle - in fact I would say in Normal mode there is a lot of pedal travel to really be able to dial in the exact throttle you want.

Were you in Sports mode or something?

You could try to drive it in Slippery mode, the throttle really needs to be pressed down to get any sort of power out!

You could always put a Pedal Commander or a Roar Pedal on there and dial it down. It’s the opposite of why most people install those absent a tune, but should help with your issue.

Remember, Rangers, or any EcoBoost, is turbo charged. When I first drove a Ranger with the 2.3, I was pleasantly surprised with the response, power and acceleration, even more so than my 95 F150 with a 5.0 V8.

Thanks for the replies. Consolidating my reply.

I was having a off day, a little paranoid. Didn't check other modes, duh. As much as I have looked at them, n read about the truck.
This truck is 2.7 v6, didnt think there was a sport mode on v6.
I think gas medal was me.

I hadn't driven my car in a week. Getting in my car later gas pedal similar to ranger. I had trouble keeping constant speed
It was me.

I think economy mode or pedal commander are good suggestions
I'll have to try if I get the truck.

I was looking at v6. I dont need or use 4wd. I think the 4 cyl , 2wd has more than enough power for me.
Much cheaper too. Also sits a little bit lower, and hopefully rides a little smoother than 4wd. My old 93 f150 with worn out shocks sits 1 in lower than 4 cyl. Im older. No issues getting in or out f my truck.

I really , really hated to pass on the v6. Still pricey. They are hard to find , end f year.

As soon as I get to feeling better. Im going to try out the 4 cyl ,2wd, drive. I Hope I feel better before 25 sales prices over. If not go with 26.

I thought the same when I first got mine. After a while it became normal and I don’t notice it anymore.

I have the same issue, I am 72, from some lack of sensation in my feet. I rarely drive in heavy traffic, and I always try to use cruise control whenever possible, even when tooling around on 35 mph streets. This lets me keep a very steady speed and I can watch out for other drivers and pedestrians rather than constantly having to check and adjust my speed. This is in a Raptor, it has more pep than the 2.7…. My wife thinks it isn’t a good practice, but I see no harm in it. I keep my right foot close to the pedals, so turning off the cruise doesn’t take any extra effort or thought, just tap the brake….

I really appreciate the full suite of driver assist features, it is one reason I sold my 2017 Land Cruiser.

FYI the Raptor drives smoother than the other models, it has soft coil springs in the rear (and less payload) and also driver adjustable Fox shocks. You probably don’t need the power, but for this alone, it might be worth test driving one. The driving dynamics are VERY different. I drove a Laramie and found it barely OK…. Not good enough for me to be interested in buying it. You are near Atlanta, correct? You might find a Ranger Raptor to test drive in that big metro area….

Im 74, I also have some issues with sensitivity f my feet, but left foot is worse. A raptor wouldn't wrk for me. I live in a very congested area. I only drive certain times f day with traffic. Unless no choice. I havent tried adaptive cruise, but I think it would be useful in my area.
On the Raptor besides price, I do like the shocks, n lots more on the truck. Very sharp truck. But i do no 4wd.
The 2.7 felt like a handful. The 3.0, with almost a 100 more hp is more for me. Im not young any more but j would prb have a tendency to put my foot in it. It sounds too good n with the power .
One big reason for no f150 is parking. They are so big, besides being pricey. Raptor is bigger than the Ranger gor parking.

I found the ranger throttle very sensitive compare to my camry.
I too have found our Lariat to have a sensitive pedal, much more so than our 24 Mustang GT, requiring light touch on the Lariat.

the 4 Cylinder seems pretty peppy to me

id get the 6 if you are towing or hauling a lot

2wd with a rear locker might be the way to go

lighter truck in terms of weight and pocket book

of course I bought the 4x4 fx4

that might have been a waste of money for me. I’ll see

personally I think at least on the 4 cylinder throttle feels great. Maybe a tad touchy in sport mode

I think the 4 cyl is plenty for me, I like trsits f the v6 , not necessarily power. I think the 4 cyl is fine on.powef,. With health stuff possibly be 2026l before I can get one. . Price jump not good. I would like to have rear locker f i can one. When im ready to buy a truck , dealer needs to find one if he wants ro make a sale. No interest in ordering a truck n waiting 6 mon
I will only tow light stuff, 4 cyl plenty there,. Maybe a bass boat at most . Late, sorry for typos

The 2.7 v6 is super smooth but tends to rev and make at lot of fuss while the 10 speed tranny is rowing from 1st to 4th gear just to get to 40 mph. It’s just the displacement and number of cyl. It’s pretty hilarious though in traffic because everywhere you go it sounds like you’re driving aggressive when you’re not, then the contagion hits someone next to you and they want to compete or play traffic light Tetris. It’s just doing its thing, I’m just trying to get to the store and they’re driving like they’ve got rats running around in their head.
