BTW, ET35 is 20mm more offset, so about 3/4 inch on each side. The XL flaps are 1 inch wider than Ford OEM and about 3 - 4 inches longer.

If you do a lot of trails, you might want to consider cutting the length of the XL flaps.

This summer im going to cut mine shorter and add on rubber bottoms so I get the same rock / mud protection but they can collapse if pinched / crushed coming off a rock shelf.

The XLs are flexible, but they are a polymer so they have a limit to how much you can flex them without damage or damaging the plastic / sheet metal in wheel well.

On the off chance the owner is here:

I saw a Shelter Green RR on Saturday 2/7/26 in Oak Park, Ca at a hiking / biking trail head. It had aftermarket wheels which I did not recognize and really liked. So much so Im interested in seeing what they are.

One truck, two motorcycles
Heading back to the house and zoomin' around farm fields.

Been pushing this each time I've traveled this road. First time, I heard the tires chirp. This time, the engine RPM increase can be heard.

Then there are the barns. Sunlight was just right for this one.

The shelter green paint does look different based on the lighting conditions. I put an ARE color-matched shell on the truck because we do a lot of off-grid camping and need space for supplies. The truck does get dirty fast. It seems like two days after a wash it’s looking dirty again! But I am happy with the truck and the LineX spray-in liner and shell. I get a lot of compliments…. 😎

Love the color/shade flop of the SGM! Yeah, my biggest concern going to the RR was less bed space for hunting/beach activities. I went with the ARE midrise to get more volume for toys/tools.

Your truck looks great with that shell. 🙂 I see you have the keypad entry. I've had that on Fords in the past. Wish I could have had it this time. That and the sunroof [Ford, are you listening?] are the only options I wish I could have.

My Ram 2500 (the vehicle I sold to downsize to the RR) had an ARE midrise shell. I was happy with the ARE brand, which is why I went for it again with the RR. But I opted against the higher roofline this time because I use parking garages fairly frequently and some of the older garages are not tremendously spacious with headroom.
