My Ranger Raptor has been on order since last August and "In Production" since Feb. Just really tired of waiting and it's not good business for Ford to keep long time customers in the dark. Is it time to buy a Toyota? Ford obviously doesn't care or I would have been told what's going on by now. Guess they figure if I don't buy it, somebody else will. Suggestions???

Worth the wait. The Toyota products don't compare when factoring their price points. Do some searching around your area. Pretty sure you find some at MSRP.
I've tried, seems when one comes up, someone else beats me to it. I don't even know if I want another Ford if this is how they treat the customer. Thanks

Wow! You're super virtuous! I don't think my patience woulda lasted from August '23 till February '24, much less till now. If you plan to keep it a long time and/or there's fairly rare options I'd wait since you've sunk this much wait time. Incredible that similar orders may have been delivered in the meantime. Did a Ford executive call and apologize or thank you for waiting?

Give Ford Finder group on Facebook and post in the ISO (in search of) post. I see a few posted in your general area now and then. Also, check the Tacoma forums for the new models. They have quite a few issues. If you want a performance vehicle, a Taco is not it. This is coming from a former Taco owner.

I’d abandon ship.
I had a truck on order that was “in production” on 2/3/23.
It finally got to the dealer 2 weeks ago.
It’s got all sorts of problems. Scratches, misaligned panels, stained paint, all of the rubber/plastic trim is deformed and poorly fitting. My dealer told me they wouldn’t sell that one to me even if I still wanted it.
There’s plenty available right now. Just do a little searching. I’m sure you’ll find one that’s equivalent to the one you had on order.

It’s been sitting on a lot somewhere in Michigan since February. I’d bail just because of that. it probably has a rusty drive shaft (common in that build timeframe) and paint damage from exposure. That’s not even considering the actual reason why Ford Has been sitting on it for seven months, there has to be something major wrong with it or they would ship it.

Don’t they all have rusty drive shafts? Isn’t that just kind of a thing with american ford?

Yup. Mine does and I’m not worried about it. It’s a driveshaft who cares. If it breaks I have a 100k mile warranty. Have 6k miles on my Ranger Raptor and it’s possibly the best truck or car I have ever owned. Have had vehicles much more expensive too.

Ford has not contacted me at all other than the 5 or so every 45 day "sorry your truck is not built yet" emails. Worthless. I have contacted the 800 number a few times, but those folks you talk to aren't even Ford employees. If they treat you like this before you buy, gotta wonder how you will be treated after.

Canceling I wouldn't argue against as you'll be able to buy one from a dealer today, but to swap to a Toyota, I'd say you'd be making a big mistake. There's some good and recent comparison vids on YT. The Ford RR stands out.

Either you have an option that cant be installed (doubtful) or something is really messed up with the truck at this point. Ford doesnt care about you, neither does any other car maker to be clear. You are a rounding error to them. The fact you think Ford cares is the issue, you wont find any different else where beyond the fact you may get a car sooner.

As far as your truck, people saying the drive shaft being rusted (they will all rust) or paint damage (nothing a good wash wont fix) is whatever. I dont necessarily believe AlpineBike about what the dealer told him about that truck, but its possible.

You can find ones at MSRP around, just do some searching. Id wait it out if you can, otherwise if you are tired of waiting go find one already built.

Mine was built the same week as yours. I took delivery in April. I would call Ford @ (800) 334-4375. Your Dealership could pull it up on vin view. You could always shop around to find one currently on the lot with the options/colors you want.

Mine lasted 230 gentle miles and had the power steering rack fail, replacement part is on back order and weeks from delivery. @Ford Motor Company is radio silent on helping… Consider yourself lucky.
