Sound deadener inside tailgate?

That's helpful information. I sprung for full ceramic on the sides and back (though only 70% on the front windows, I live away from city lights and need the added visibility at night) and despite this + using a good custom sunshade, it is just brutal so far in the heat. I have suspected with the darker color, I might be getting a lot of heat from the roof, but I have no way to test my theory. Your experience is helping me to justify trying my hand at the sound dampening once it cools off enough to tolerate working on it...

You’ll really enjoy how the SD’ing quiets down the truck and helps the audio as well. Especially the roof when it’s raining and the doors on the highway. Plus, it gets you up close & personal with the interior of your truck which, to me, seems like a plus should you ever need to fix/maintain/up grade anything in those areas in the future.
SD’er is fairly cheap so if your truck is fairly new then the sooner you do it than the longer you’ll reap the benefits. My previous F-150 Platinum I owned for 4 1/2 years before doing all the SD’er then only kept it for 7-8 months before trading it in on my ‘25 RR. Kinda torqued me off doing it for the next guy, but it was my doing. This time I did it in the first 6 months of getting my Ranger, HA! Just more nonsense to mull over…..

I only added one layer of the NVX, but also some 3m thinsulate above the headliner. That, and ceramic tint all around, really helps cut down the heat.

Also did the tailgate

Yeah I couldn’t help myself either and did the tailgate. Seemed kinda ridiculous at the time and still kinda does, but I had to do it. I love the thud the t/g now makes. Not so Coke can-ish.
