I noticed that on top of my tailgate, 25' Ranger Lariat FX4, there are two spring loaded caps that you can depress with your fingers. Anyone know what these are really for?

It would be very nice if someone could come up with a 2 step tailgate step that would use these two holes as mounting points. Yeah call it GMC envy but, for us vertically challenged old Farts, it would be nice.

TIA

They are clamp pockets used to clamp wood, etc. to tailgate to use it like a sawhorse.
That’s why they have the handy-dandy tapes there on the top of the tailgate, well ok.
Anyway, anybody think a 2-step step might be supported in those pockets?
Thx

I don’t think that would work with the tail gate down.

but if you want a step without the tail gate down there are a lot of tow hitch steps

i was hoping amp research would make one like that under bed one. i had one on my old nissan and it made it so much easier to get into the bed when the tailgate was down. amp makes their version kick out the side a little when its lowered so you can still use it with the tailgate down.

In the install video it shows there is enough room in the slotted holes to position this step so it can be deployed and used with the tailgate down.

Yep, Yep I have asked if they ship stateside or have a US distributor. Seem to be a robust design.

Hi Neil

I hope you are well.

We regret that we are no longer shipping outside the UK to the EU or any other worldwide destination.

This was a tough decision for us, as here at Eagle4x4 we like to try and supply and help everyone in the 4x4 world.

Due to Brexit, increased shipping costs and additional customs and duties paperwork, it is no longer viable for us to ship internationally.

When we have issues, they are very costly to fix, both for us and sometimes for the customers, which is not the experience we want to give.

We are more than happy to ship your order to a UK address if you have somewhere the goods can be forwarded from here in the UK. It would be your responsibility to arrange to collect and deliver the goods from this point.

If you have any questions please let us know and we will be happy to help

Thanks Eagle4x4

Kind Regards

Harriet Archer

Does anyone really use the clamps on the tailgate? I have been doing professional carpentry for 43 years and I don’t cut lumber on the tailgate ever!
It’s like asking for some that don’t know what they are doing to cut their tailgate.
Use saw horses.

I did use them last Veterans day to hold a flag pole support rod.
