By the time I've shipped the thing, I could have ordered all the parts from Ford for the same money. In less than 6 months, shipping went from manageable to cost prohibitivel.

I appreciate the callout... I hadn't shopped on AliExpress before today and didn't find many options. I now see better ways to peruse.

Shop Aliexpress and you will get the crap quality expected, like the torn metal at bend points shown in earlier posts. It doesn't matter what you may do as a home remedy, but if you live in a corrosive environment (someplace with winter and salt), that rusting magnet will result in step failure within just a few years.

There are millions of great products on Ali. There are also some not so great things. Same as anywhere.

Wait a couple of weeks and try again. Shipping varies wildly. Next week, it might be $200. It all depends when a ship leaves, otherwise it is probably air freight.

I got them installed this week, did not take any progress pics but there is a complete write up with pictures on the process.
Couple things that are helpful. All the white clips except 1 on each side can be accessed from the backside with an 8mm socket to compress the wings of the clips.
You need to support the bumper, loosen the bumper bolts on one side and remove them on the side you are working on.
The 2 clips you can’t get an 8mm socket on, I reached up with a long skinny flat blade screwdriver and broke the wings off. So you need to have several available. There were 10-12 in my parts box. You also will need four 10 mm 1.5 thread bolts for the back of the bracket.
Took me about 5 hours yesterday and 2 today, but at almost 70 I just don’t move as fast as I used to.
As far as quality goes, I am about 95% satisfied with them. There is a small gap at the top of the panel on the passenger side where it meets the body, we may be able to finesse that out.
When my wife saw them she suggested that we both might have trouble actually using them but they looked pretty cool. Then she wondered if they were going to be lighted. Hmmmm.
