Took my 2024 XLT Ranger (delivered in May)in to my local ford service center to have them check
1) rough transmission issues (4th down to 3rd down to 2nd and very rough change down into 1st when stopping)
2) Cold starts bogging out
3) Also RPM sticking at 3500-4000 rpm when take foot off accelerator in sport mode.

After 4 hrs wait I was told that it needs a new transmission and I am waiting for them to call me back after they contact Ford about a replacement. Said something about a "spike?" in transmission, possible diode? Failure?
Any one else have these issues?
I experience a rough shift from 3rd to 2nd, 2nd to 1st but only in manual mode. I've tried at different rpms and pretty consistent. In auto nothing of the sorts. Does yours do it in manual mode on downshift?

I am unsure of that as I have only used manual when low 4 wheel driving

Does anyone else's truck never go into 2nd gear? My truck always goes straight from 1st to 3rd, regardless of acceleration.

Almost never.

I guess with 10 gears not every gear needs to be used constantly...but it's super annoying how the truck only cares about getting to 10th gear as quickly as possible, regardless of if you're driving 45mph or 80mph.

H when I drive in town, The minus button on the gearshift, hit it a couple of times and you can program how many gears to want. I minus out 10,9 and 8, so it never shifts over 7th gear. Your welcome

in the morning line to get on base, i lock out 3-10th so i only shift 1 and 2. that skip to third makes the truck jump forward so much i feel like one day its going to jump and hit the guy in front of me.

Yes I know it works that way, but I'm not going to do it everytime I start the truck.
