Not sure if you read, but OP was cross-shopping with a Maverick Tremor, so I'm not sure that assumption holds. Anyway, if he doesn't find a Raptor a compelling value $60-70k then naturally one must consider other options or abandon the search.
Agreed. As usual, I didn't read it through.

I paid $68k for mine - it was the only one on the lot at Galpin Ford in LA/San Fernando Valley, one of the biggest volume dealers in the USA. The sticker was $58k. The dealer was non-negotiable about $10k in profit builders - paint protection, tire warranty, GAP, yadda yadda. The dealer also shoehorned me into a Bank of America loan with a high interest rate (more kickback for Galpin, no doubt). But I put 25% down at purchase, and the next week turned around and refinanced through my credit union at a much lower interest rate, so I'll have it paid off in 5 years. No complaints.

*Will you be flat towing your RR? I recently learned that apparently some '25 RRs built in 2024 may not be so equipped. See my post from earlier this evening about a chance encounter I had with an October '24 build '25 RR that cannot be flat towed....

I bought mine at Galpin also (drove from murrieta in full cali traffic btw)...and yep pay the 10k or walk..I bought mine the day after the air bag recall went into affect thus leaving only three available raptors for sale in the state. I will say though I got the freshest RR out there at the time...mine was built august 12th and I bought it august 28th!..shocked to see how fast it got to the dealer after it was built and that also included factory Bedliner...bottom line is Galpin had one of three available and they knew it and I paid for it...that said Wifezilla and I did get a nice free steak dinner from them while we were waiting for the paperworks...man that place is BUSY

After all the mark up + tax title +license and finance, it's going to cost me over $70k. Should I even bother?
.... I get it... I live in Montana where there's no sales tax added on to anything... Makes a huge difference when you're purchasing something that cost a lot....

Markups seem to be a western US thing. That's Why I bought mine 1500 miles away. There's a dealership here in Phoenix that has a new Bronco Raptor on their showroom floor for $150K. They know some idiot will eventually buy it.

I see a lot of raptor f150 and Ranger in my area of California.

a large amount in my neighborhood even.

it is a popular vehicle trim here. Supply and demand and also the msrp mis pretty reasonable I think for what you get.

I guess I don't really understand ADM in this case because you can always get these trucks through one of the huge volume dealers that will give you a small discount under list, will cover equiv shipping/driving it back at least. So effectively, you can get a vacation and road trip and MSRP all day long.

I'm in Phoenix. Same thing here $10K-$15K mark ups at local dealers. I bought my 2025 on ebay from Montrose Ford in Ohio. $1300 for transport to Phoenix. Best car buying experience I have ever had. $500 below MSRP. They did get me for AZ sales tax but that's on anything you buy anymore.

When did you buy? I'm in Phoenix too. In October 25, I went to Rodeo Ford in Goodyear, they wanted $10K markup. I called around every dealership in the valley and Larry H Miller in Mesa told me they would sell it at sticker, but they only had 1 Grey one. I wanted the Marsh Grey at Rodeo Ford, so I brought in the quote and they matched Larry H Miller's price, plus threw in a free spray on bedliner. they will negotiate now, but they leave the markup on the websites and stickers hoping people won't try and negotiate.

I bought it in July of last year. I found it on eBay at Montrose Ford in Ohio. $500 under MSRP. I put $25K down and was able to pay it off in 7 months. I know Bell ford wanted $15K over sticker back then.

Nice! Yeah, put $25K down too, but i'm not in the position to be dropping $6K a month payments right about now, just got into a new house. but damn! good on ya!

Fair point, lots of new Mercedes, BMW, and other luxuries like Raptors in high income zips because the MSRPs are effectively discounted relative to income.

What really helped pay that truck off was all of the RR spacer and lift kits that I sold on ebay and other places. I sold over 50 2"/1" kits way cheaper than the goat guys in Australia.
