Your videos are great and one of the deciding factors for getting the Ranger. I got an amazing deal on a fully loaded cactus grey 2.7 XLT too! So far I’m loving the engine and ability to zip about SF traffic is a huge plus over a bigger sized truck
Appreciate it!

Was not impressed with the 2.3 so we waited for the job 2 run and got an August 2024 build Lariat 2.7 FX4 for wife. 9100 miles, always in sport mode and nothing but 94 Sunoco Ultra since it is all over south east PA. Impressive midrange torque/pull. About ready for 2nd oil change and a Ford Performance tune. Great little addition to a Super Duty family.

While I don't want you to be right (especially with the Superduty), you certainly could be. Especially with regard to the Superduty. The Ford F-Series is king and Ford isn't going to do anything they perceive as cutting into those sales. Unless they rename the Ranger the F-100.
Love that F-100 reference. When I was a kid back in the 80s, my dad had an F-100. IMHO, that was the perfect size truck. Big enough to haul gear to a camping site, small enough to drive around the city, with enough power to have a little fun. I learned to drive in that truck. Maybe I'll get a replica badge made and put it on my ranger.

Loving every mile of my 2.7L motor here in the Rocky Mountains. Living at 9,000 feet elevation and going up from there with about every drive except into Colorado Springs, a boy needs every bit of horsepower he can get. Rumor has it that Ford Performance will offer a "tune" late this year/early in 2026. Time will tell, but for now I have no regrets with my motor selection.

On a different note.....ceramic coating this vehicle was a smart decision living on 2 miles of dirt/mud roads here in Colorado. It's been raining like heck for 2 weeks and a quick spray with a power washer and a blow job from my leaf blower is easy breezy.

I'm right there with you. I live in Colorado as well. Colorado mountain driving is different than pretty much anywhere. Driving on a road that climbs several thousand feet in elevation in just a few miles requires as much horsepower as you can get.

@Donnie B where did you get the ceramic coating done and how much did it cost?

My ceramic coating was a DIY project. I started with doing my '07 Shelby this Winter to get the hang of it....and once you do, it's easy breezy. I use Adam's Polishes products and my what a difference it made. Make sure you do your wheel wells, inside and outside of your wheels, and under your rocker panels.

Hey DutchRanger....thanks for the link to the "tune." I checked with Ford Performance and the 2024 tune IS NOT appropriate for 2025 and one is coming out soon.
I got this truck specifically for the 2.7, but if you aren't sure or especially if you have driven both and aren't sure then I would definitely recommend not opting for 2.7. I am gear head and hp junkie and try not to wish my sicknesses on others

Very happy with 2.7; mileage great, output similar to my old Tundra 5.7 V8 and it’s a decent tow vehicle for my Airstream 23FTB so long as equalizer bars are on as well as an excellent daily driver.

Averaging 22.5 or better over nearly 6,000 miles with approximately 10% of those reflecting towing in mountainous VT.
