I drove the Frontier Pro4X. Just felt way too tight inside the cabin and was very unrefined on the slightly rough road we tested on. Actually found myself white-knuckling the steering wheel! Drove a used 5G Ranger on the same road and it was better, but the 6G ranger on the same road is leaps and bounds above both.

They still make the van, just not the titan.

The 2017 4x4 titan sv was quick, stock. 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. Mine was a texas titan so the only stuff i didnt have was the sunroof and leather interior. I got complimented all the time but that amount of chrome is not for everyone.

I cross shopped the Tacoma and the GM pair.

Tacoma felt like a smaller interior from 2012 (granted seating position is way better than two generations ago) and I literally couldn't stop laughing at the Bluetooth speaker to the point that it made the sales guy uncomfortable as he was excitedly pointing it out on the sales floor model. It also was wholly unimpressive power train wise and come to find out the hybrid was just for torque didn't even get good gas mileage? Then add another 10k+ over the raptor for the TRD Pro? Made no sense to me. If the TRD Pro was say 5k cheaper than the raptor and had a bulletproof V6 again, that would be a different world. But ain't no way for 70k Tacoma with two powertrains to worry about. And a flipping Bluetooth speaker dash like it's some luxury feature lmao.

GM stuff was similarly another 10kish for top trim over raptor and while it seemed maybe slightly more built for crawling, gave me the impression that the value wasn't there at the price differential. I might have considered it if the price point for the Bison was equivalent or less than the raptor, race truck vs pure off-road truck sorta thing.

All of them have positives, but once you factor $ into it, really hard to look away from the RR for an average buyer IMO.

I am glad they all exist though, midsize was a graveyard for so long. I want more competition not less.

Ahh, I didn’t know this. I will say I have 24 Fords in vans, pickups but I do have one Nissan van great van to bad they dropped them.
Yea, I think Nissan had a decent truck and the van I think was on the Titan chassis made in the same plant down in Mississippi.

I use to have one of the original ZR2 Bison Colorados.
It had turbo diesel in it.
‘I liked that prior generation Colorado a lot better than the current generation.

Initially the looks of the GMC Canyon Denali caught my attention. I think it is the best looking mid-size truck, with its Chevy cousin a close second, and the Ranger third. However, once i sat in it, i rulled it out. It was way too cramped. The other deal breaker was the lack of power.

At the time, I was also considering a Mustang GT. I was at a dealer to test drive the Mustang and noticed the RR parked next to it. For the hell of it I test drove it. I was hooked. I was amazed at the difference in feel of the interior space compared to the Canyon. Although the actual measurements may be similar, it felt much more spacious.

I was also suprised by how refined and comfortable it felt to drive. Having owned one other truck over 10 years ago, I dont consider myself a truck guy. That said, the RR is a very unique vehicle. The size is perfect, the drive is refined, loads of power, handles well, looks bad ass, and it seems well built (so far). I also think its an amazing value for what you get, considering the $60k+/- price.

Im not a truck guy, or a Ford guy, or loyal to any brand. In my opinion, given the overall package, the RR is by far the best mid-size truck available for sale today.

Btw, im not discounting other Ranger trim levels. I can only speak to the RR since i own one.

Had the Ranger Raptor not made it to the States, I would have picked up either a new F-150 with the 5.0 or made the jump to a Ram 2500 with the Cummins. Wide range to cross shop, I know, but there just isn't another midsize that seems to be worth chasing.

My son just bought the 26 Frontier Pro4x and it is a great truck for the price. Also almost all the same tech and options as RR. Only issue is the 8.5" ground clearance and no front locker.
I own a 24 RR and LOVE IT. But if I was more on a budget like my son was i would have also bought the Frontier.
Chevy/Gm as dog slow and too much plastic inside.

We need Dodge to pump out a mid-size competitor with a bigger engine with 600+HP stock. Something to force Ford's hand to dramatically improve the RR. Something to force Ford to make the Ranger Raptor R.

95% of truck drivers spend 95% of their time on regular roads doing regular driving. (i'm making that up, but you get the point). 🤣 Just get the RR.

Of the 2 Japanese brands I think I would buy a Nissan over the Toyota.
The whole turbo 4 banger is just a non starter for me.

‘But honestly if those were the only mid size trucks on the market , or say the Ranger didn’t exist here in the states, I would simply still have a full size 1/2 ton truck in the garage.
I had a GMC AT4X and a TRX prior to the RRs.

The Ranger Raptor is what got me intersted in a mid size trucks again.
I'm TRX curious and own a ranger raptor. Thoughts having owned both?

I would drive a Raptor R if the RR was not available.

It was a great truck. Was the world’s first super truck.
Over 700 hp , sounded awesome, looked awesome.
‘I sort of miss it at times, but it never was a daily driver for me.
‘Just too big, to really enjoy it as daily.
This was mine.
The Viper truck was a fun truck too, even less of a practical daily. Lol

It's hard to beat a Ranger Raptor, especially comparing like for like feature with the competition.

Even if you would get away from price as driving factor, you still can't ignore the power and performance differences seen between all the competition compared to the Ranger Raptor.
None of the competition is even close in the engine performance stats.

If you ignore the performance and the price still the Ranger Raptor outshines the others in other areas like comfort. The seats in the Colorado are hard as rock, the suspension in the competition is also a bit less plush than the live valve Fox shocks in the Ranger Raptor.

That is my 2 Cents and I am sticking to it. LOL

PS. The Ranger Raptor is by far the best-looking truck of the lot too. LOL
There are a few things that should have been included or made options considering the price:

Cooled/ventilated seats
Rear cabin HVAC
Cloth or neoprene option

Also the interior knobs/dials except the headlights are really cheap, I can feel the seams from the plastic injection mold on the drive mode selector. The Bronco knobs/dials are just fine, why not use those?

And why are there not physical buttons controls for the HVAC when they are at the bottom of the screen all the time anyways.

Very nice. I used to have a 2014 Raptor in supercab, and even with it being 12 inches shorter than the regular Raptor, it still felt too big. Parking lots are a
