Thought I would make a post going over what is needed for those wanting to install a transfer case shield on a XL, XLT & Lariat 2.3L without the FX4 package.

  • MB3Z7E063A Floor Pan Splash Shield. As of this writing, I could not bring up a Ford Parts direct part number link for 2024 Ranger. At risk, I used and ordered the part number listed for the Ford Bronco and it is a perfect fit.

  • W717376S439B Floor Pan Splash Shield Bolt, 4ea. Comes in a pack of 4ea.

  • W717461S439 Spring Nut, 2ea. Comes in a pack of 4ea.

2ea of the Spring Nuts go into the LH frame rail. Crossmember side already has the holes threaded.

Yup!

I usually fluid film late fall but spot treated these contact areas before they got covered with the shield.

Edit: I still spot treat with Fluid Film rattle cans, but the last couple of years, I have been using bulk gallon Blaster Surface Shield when I do the whole frame and underbody. Surface Shield holds up better.
