That was one of the top requests during our pre-development survey. We will have more system details coming at the time of launch. Stay tuned...

Would be cool if there’s just an axle back version as well. I’m more bothered by the dinky, stock tailpipes than the sound.
Either way I’m excited to see and hear it!

Looking forward to more commentary and recordings of the exhaust sound. Hoping for something louder, no drone, and more aggressive so I dont have to stomp on the gas to grin 🙂

@cc1999, does a good sounding exhaust stop the v8 Dakota purchase? Idk.

I doubt it, least for me, if their is Hemi V8 Dakota TRX , and it looks as good as the full size TRX, I am 100% going to be jumping all over that. That will be a must have truck. No v8 , probably not , but am betting the SRT Dakota gets a v8.

I have all but given up on the Godzilla swap. Got my deposit back a couple weeks ago. I did ask them to let me know if and when they ever get their ducks in row, that I am still interested in doing it. But seems nothing has been happening lately with moving the needle on getting any of these built.

I did order a 27‘ TRX this week, ordered pretty much the same spec I had ordered back in 2020.
I have no idea when I will see it, order bank just opened up this week, and got the call, so I went ahead and placed my order since it seems my Godzilla RR is on a somewhat or seemingly permanent delayed status.

Coming from the gladiator world, I would be very surprised if they follow through on a v8 midsized, for the same reasons ford will never put a v8 in a ranger. It’ll decimate their full size market.

Well I think back to the last Dakota offered which offered a v8 as well as the 1st gen Dakota offered a v8. I am not sure if the Dakota was ever offered without a v8 option being available.
Didn’t seem to cause much of an issue with their full size truck sales before.

‘They will need to differentiate themselves from the competition, I really think offering a V8 would do it. Dodge invented the mid-size truck segment with the Dakota. I am glad they are finally brining it back. Hopefully the Dodge name merges back with Ram by then as well.

‘I do belive there is a decent chance the next gen Gladiator could get a v8 as well.
Only time will tell.
