That’s frustrating. Out of curiosity, were you led to believe you were first in line at your dealer?
I kind of had a feeling I wasn't from the beginning. The dealer would never give me a straight answer on the specific questions I was asking them. Like I would say, "I am told dealers only get 1 allocation, will I get that allocation?" Response: "We will get allocations." Basically, I think their unit was already going to a VIP already. It sucks, but I am locked in at MSRP at least.

Welp I just asked my salesguy, and he says that Ford scheduled someone else's order. So looks like it'll be next year for me boys.
There's a high probability this same thing will happen to me.

I guess this needs some clarification were you told you were getting the one allocation?
Nope. Salesguy, would always dance around the question. So probably was never going to get the first.

Yeah feels bad man. Especially how long of an anticipation it has been. But we are basically at the mercy of dealers, and how they feel about you versus the next guy.

Thanks for the context. And yes, frustrating but it seems to be a common situation when trying to purchase these types of specialty vehicles. Hopefully you’ll receive positive word sooner rather than later.

Cheers

Yeah it does, especially now that it's becoming real and everyone's getting their build dates. I had 3 dealers I was working with.

1st one, I was second in line and the first guy dropped out. The dealer called me to tell me and by the time they tried putting the order in, the owner swooped in and gave it to himself.

2nd dealer told me I could have it and a week later reneged and told me they won't sell to anyone out of state.

3rd and final option, I was 4th in line but dealer said they were submitting all at once anyway. My only hope has been to try and game the system with the info I had on here to make sure my priority code was lower than everyone else's etc. but I'm feeling like that still might not be good enough.

While all bad, your "1st one" really pisses me off! I know it's the real world, but it just does not sit right! I think I get more honest answers from salesman about the RR because I'm getting an XLT. Just under an hour ago, I called to ask about XLT scheduling. I then asked about the RR scheduling going out today. I was told the demand was obviously (per capita #'s) greater than lower trims, but still a bit lower then expected. The salesman stated some retails should still be available. I was thinking if I were in the shoes of those not getting scheduled, EXPAND your search as far as you are willing to go, make some calls, and put in several orders.

It all comes down to what reality is though. Were ALL of the first-production RR's supposed to have been scheduled today? This could just be a long process that takes a few weeks. If expected #s are low, then likely everyone who wanted one would eventually be scheduled

@Raynger24 What information did you get on XLT scheduling, if any?

I agree! What really surprised me was that they told me that's what happened. They would have been better off telling me "sorry, but apparently it was already committed to someone else". I would have been mad either way but just knowing it was the owner that did that looks really bad imo.

Aww...sorry, I should have anticipated that question. I was told that Raptor demand was HIGHER then other trim levels because of prior non-availabilty in N.A. Of course we know that part already. I now have been told by that dealer and just spoke to another dealer I placed an XLT order with, that orders right now for the non RR Rangers should not be a problem for us folks as the order numbers are lower then expected, slowly rising, but still well within the range of Ford's capacity. Both told me our scheduling should begin "soon" I could not get a firmer time frame then that. Both told me "at most" probably six months to build, to inside my garage. (though one said outside chance 8 months). No constraint problems at this time.
