I have dealt with a dealer for 5 months about a RR allocation. Made a deal in writing- $2500 ADM for the 1st allocation and Purchased a separate ford car (for the wife). Walked the sales guy through the entire ordering process (per all the chats on here- Stock order for the allocation). Now they stated I have a retail order and they aren’t getting an RR allocation, only their bigger brother store is receiving the RR. Isn’t every dealer supposed to receive an allocation? Even the satellite stores? Seems like the bigger store will keep all allocations just to prevent me from obtaining the RR at such a low ADM. How can I track allocations if the dealer isn’t being transparent?

I think the short answer to that question is that you can't. It sucks, I know. I have 2 orders in right now. 1 for a stock unit that they swore they had allocation for and 1 retail. Neither has scheduled. If you have a retail order, you should've gotten emails from Ford. You also have to provide a drivers license and usually a $1000 deposit. Could also be that the big brother store is keeping both allocations because they made a deal with a higher ADM.

Unless they changed things FORD does not require any deposit for customer orders, its only individual dealers asking for it. Dealers aren't obligated to be transparent with us or give us any information at all about their allocations. I think it is pretty well confirmed on here from people in the know that Ford has only telegraphed a single allocation to each dealer initially, with no promises about what comes after that. Sounds like the dealer has broken the contract they signed with you too ?

Sorry you have to experience this, but at some point you may want to look around for another dealer not playing these games and get back any deposit you gave the current crew. Also if you purchased the wife's car using Ford financing through this dealer, I would go refinance with my own loan somewhere else and dump the Ford loan- just because.

Only real way to combat a dishonest dealer is to take your business elsewhere.

Not sure if this is relevant, but I ordered my Ranger Raptor as soon as order banks opened. I agreed to pay $3k adm after unsuccessfully trying to get a raptor 37 or bronco badlands hardtop for months at Msrp. They even wanted a $30k adm on a bronco raptor, and the bronco is already $40k more than the Ranger! I’m not sure if mine was a stock order or retail. I’ve been talking to my salesman hoping to get a VIN to track, and he tells me nothing yet, and apparently my dealer is also getting a second Ranger raptor. I have the option of taking it if my order takes too long, but would rather have my azure gray instead of black. It leads me to believe some dealers can get more than one allocation though. Good luck all.

Ford needs to crack down on these dealers. I've owned Ford's for 50 years. With the BS their pulling now they can stick it where the sun doesn't shine.

If you had a retail order, you would have an email from Ford and also get your VIN when it is scheduled. Sounds like yours is stock, and don't believe the dealer. I was told the dealership I have my stock order with had 5 allocations (big dealership, lots of locations). I was #2 on the list. Still not scheduled.

The answer is to buy direct from Ford, but that is illegal everywhere I’ve ever lived. Talk to your state representative, but unfortunately you will probably run into a brick wall. the powerful people in state governments are bought and paid for by the auto dealers association in every state.

Ford doesn't want to control the End To End business from design through final sales and service. Look at all the problems they are having without that part, what makes you think adding direct sales complexity would make ANY of it any better? In the bigger picture, we need franchised dealership to act as the customer facing 1st contact point for recall & service work, easiest route for trade ins and more. They also employ 10s of Thousands of Americans- why do you want to punish them ?

based on everything we know with much certainty, that is a lie. Each dealership gets only 1 Ranger Raptor allocation until further notice- TBD.

No, your dealer isn't getting a 2nd Ranger Raptor- nobody is for now and Ford isn't saying when if ever that will happen. Also, why aren't you using Ford tracking tool, chat, Customer hotlines, etc. for info on status of your order and getting your VIN? Dealers are not the 1 and only (or even reliable) source for that.

I'm seeing the same thing. That's why I'm saying not to believe the dealer. They might get that additional allocation later, but from what I've heard Ford will fill retail orders first when they issue more allocations.

I have reached out to ford chat, and they said they have nothing for me either. Here’s what she said “I see the status as In order processing and Unscheduled- Clean. There is no eta, vin or build date yet.” Makes me a little upset because I was at my dealer at 7am on May 26th to give a deposit, and try to order it first hour. My dealer kinda dicked around and finally ordered it May 30, so maybe that’s why I’m not getting anything back like others on here. Dealers are so frustrating, I bought my Shelby raptor, my 21 platinum f250, and my 21 Jeep rubicon all in the same year, so I thought I was a good customer to them, but they still kinda rude to me and suck about giving me any updates. I was gonna try for a new mustang GTD as well, but have little hope with my BS dealer, plus they’ll probably want $100k ADM. Hope everyone else has better experiences with their “stealerships” lolz.

All that is perfectly normal and expected. It means Ford has your order and they don’t see any issues with it. You won’t get a VIN until it’s scheduled no matter how many times you bug Ford or the Dealer. As far as when you placed the order, it has no bearing on getting scheduled. It’s essentially random at this point. So just settle in for the wait.

Ford wants to control the end to end business just like Tesla. Jim Farely has made that absolutely clear on multiple occasions. Recall and service work can be accomplished by any shop that Ford approves. Ford is tired of making dealers rich while Ford struggles to make a profit. Those thousands of dealership employees can continue to provide maintenance services to their customers. The sales departments would be eliminated or have to focus exclusively on used vehicles. The direct sales model is proven to be effective and highly satisfying to customers, but dealerships are fighting to keep their monopoly by bribing state lawmakers. I know multiple people that have bought Teslas online. Every single one of them said they loved the fact that they didn’t have to work with a dealer or salesman.
