According to this article, the strike targeted the mid size truck segment. So us waiting for Rangers specifically getting hosed.
I was racking my brain figuring out why they chose the Colorado plant but then I realized Toledo makes the Gladiator too so yeah, it almost seems like they picked an entire market segment and said ānot so fast boys!ā
My Focus is one of these cars. Built in Feb '11 as a '12, owned by FoMoCo, and sold used at a Ford dealer with 20k on the odometer. Best car I've every owned in terms of reliability, probably because it was built before Job 1. The QC is probably through the roof during this run.
Yes QC is critical on these vehicles for obvious reasons. All the testing and development is converged to this moment to make sure itās ready for mass production. You get a freshly trained staff that are usually seasoned to begin with on this process. Itās not quite cherry picked as itās still production equivalent material but itās the best itās going to get for sure.
