UAW Strike moved my build date

I am pretty tempted to pick up a used Ranger to wait this out -- there's a nice Lariat Tremor with 45K miles on it that I took a look at yesterday... might be a good hold-over for 4-6 (?!?) months while waiting. Placed my order coincidently the day the strike started :/

not shooting the messenger here. Don't know who the "other guy" is but I'm telling you from my personal Maverick experience from ordering through production to finally receiving my truck 10.5 months later. Having a VIN only means they have reviewed your order at every level and believe it can be built at some point. Usually that comes true eventually, but not always, as some people with cancelled Maverick hybrid orders with VINs found out.

When your order status changes to "In production" you are closer, but still not guaranteed anything. The status you want is "in the factory" meaning it is being prepared to actually roll down the line to be built. It requires an allocation at this point too. Only my salesguy could give me the "in the factory" heads up using their internal scheduling report published daily.

You are actually correct as well. I have talked about how the flow works and what is required at each step. Does not mean things can't go wrong in this process at any point. IN the case of Mavericks and other, mostly new design stuff hiccups happen.
Parts are defective, jigs and things did not work as planned, Bronco tops were a perfect example of this!
Even something as with the f150's every day a few bodies are scrapped when they should have been built for a customer. In this case it has to be started all over again. This would have been showed it is built on a certain week then suddenly is delayed.
Both Broncos and Mavericks this was a disaster of issues.
The ranger already has history as many things are already used and the complete truck has been built in other countries for some time now. It is suppose to go much smother. Not to mention many have already been through the lines at MAP so it "should" go much better.

What was your original date? I feel like I was pushed back further than anybody. Most people were pushed back a couple weeks at most. I was pushed over a month.

I was originally 10/16 and then the first week of the strike pushed me to 10/23. Ordered on July 7

That sucks, my original build date was like 3 weeks before you and now I've been pushed a week after you.

this is extremely normal and even expected in the current environment. Just gotta roll with it and not attach any real importance to any individual changes along the way.

It will now start moving 1 week at a time until the strike ends since 9/25 was the "Job 1 start".

When did you order it? I'm considering ordering an XLT Ranger but at this point its looking like it wouldn't be until mid next year if I'm lucky? Crazy times.
